this would be cool if the previous 200 series roof rack fitting kit could be used with the new base rack.

Just to double-check. I'm getting a big electrical install at a local shop here, they said they could order this for me through them. I think I'm gonna go for it, fair price and I just lived the look since I 1st saw it. Also getting solar and lighting on my roof, so rather do it on my forever rack instead of the temp rack i have up there now. Anyways, before they order can you confirm that they have all these part numbers correct? Just double-checking. I'm going for the full-length 84x51 rack. I'll be adding 160w rigid solar, So i need all the space
Rack: ARB part number 1770040 Mount: ARB part number 17915010 Defector: ARB part number 17915040
These part numbers are correct. They can also be ordered as a group from ARB using the single part number Base11.Just to double-check. Thanks for the tip, that's how Maineoverland has it listed to as the set. Yeah the local shop that's getting them for me is going straight through ARB as wellThese part numbers are correct. They can also be ordered as a group from ARB using the single part number Base11.
Well as Homer Simpson would say “doh”FYI. I heard back from ARB about mounting my Yakima cargo box to the Base Rack. I also asked if the rack would interfere with the Sat Radio fin. Here is what I heard back. Note that they are "redesigning the rack so that the mounts will stand taller and lift the rack above the antenna." This may impact some people's decision. Interfering with the antenna may not be an issue for some. A higher rack may be an issue. Maybe someone will want to wait for the "redesign". I suspect the AUS models don't have the "fin" and therefore don't need to avoid it. I would have preferred that they keep the rack low profile and provide a cutout for the fin. But maybe those who need the roller bar so as to put kayak's or such on the rack would prefer that the rack sit above the fin.
"Thanks for reaching out. I'm unsure how your Yakima cargo box is to mount. We offer a Eye Bolt Tie-Down if you're able to fasten the box to a single securing point, if your cargo boxes use U-bolts to be secured I do believe you could connect them around the BASE Rack slats.
The BASE Rack does not have a cutout to avoid the shark fin antenna on the roof of the vehicle. We are redesigning the rack so that the mounts will stand taller and lift the rack above the antenna."

My inclination is that when I first reached out to ARB directly by phone late last year they said “the delay with the rack release in the US was because of the mounting plates (I think that’s what she referred to them)” and would be released early 2021 before Easter she said. I would be shocked that a company as big as ARB and with all the R&D they put into these new racks, that they wouldn’t account for the US spec antenna fin. So, I’m thinking we (US spec) get a different mounts for the rack.I am only passing on the answer to my question, "Does the rack interfere with the antenna fin on a US spec 200 series Land Cruiser?" What I posted above was the extent of the answer. Like you I would like to know what that means. Is there any flexibility in where the rack is mounted? Can you move it forward in front of the fin? But even if you could, would you want to. I like to be able to access the rack from the lowered tailgate so I like the rack mounted as far back as is possible without interfering with the raised tailgate.
Just a guess but maybe the "fix" is to change the mounting system to raise the rack. The rack still works, just the mounting "towers" need to be changed. But it would make it higher. A couple people appear to have ordered theirs from Mainline Overland. Maybe MO would know. I am still a ways off from ordering a new rack.
Anyone out there installed this Base Rack on a US spec LC?

I agree. I also didn't even think of the wind deflector. On another note, does anybody have a pic of this "fin"? I never had or used satellite radio. I just climbed up to look on my 08 roof and didnt see a fin of any sort. Was this an option...or some 2016+ thing? I want as low as possible, really probably 75% of what instantly attracted me to this rack.I would prefer ARB to keep the rack as low as possible and include a low profile replacement antenna to be fitted for US spec Cruisers. Charge another $50 and call it good. The lower the profile the better. Raising the mounts would also require changing the wind deflector as well, otherwise it will no longer be effective.
Thx for the pic. Yeah no fin on my 08It was on both my '13 and my '16. It is at the rear, and sticks up like a shark fin.
