This time we made it to Canada and about 650 miles away from home without any issues. It was a really fun drive. But... In Destruction Bay Yukon a rod bearing started to spin and knock badly. I had lots of tools and parts along, but that's something I didn't have any way to fix on the side of the road. We had to wait 12 hours to get towed to the closest big town (Whitehorse, Yukon) and by some miracle got a loaner pickup and a U-Haul trailer and continued the journey south like that.

We eventually made it to my dad's house in South Dakota and dropped the FJ40 off. I'll have to come back down with a new set of crank and rod bearings next summer and get it running again. It actually still runs fine if you ignore the knocking sounds. 🤣

All in all a less than epic FJ40 3800 mile trip, but at the end of the day we made it.
