The vent is fresh air intake for the heater.
Okay thanks...I don't have that on mine but I like it...doubt I'll put one on though....

Come to find out the vent was added by the PO. This one did not have it originally. Im probably going to remove it and fill the hole, although i do like the look of it.

did that the first time around. I had 2 projects, a 62 and a 69. They spent 4 years going nowhere because work has been so busy. I was years off and i wanted something to drive ASAP... I aint gettin any younger.....and this was a very affordable rig..... Could not have finished the projects for what i paid for this truck. And, i still get to tinker. I found a top for it, PTO winch and some other goodies. In the meantime i get to cruise around town in it when im home on the weekends....
