The past few years I have restored quite a few FJ40's. Never seemed to be able to find the right 45 to restore. Most that I have seen are much to rusty or have frame issues. Finally the wait is over with the arrival of my new HJ45 LWB. Body and frame are great on this one. It is a Diesel which I also have never had before. Believe I will do a complete frame off restoration. Sadly with its arrival to me it had to leave another owner. He was very upfront about the condition and a pleasure to deal with. I bought it sight unseen which is normally a big no no. However it was exactly how he described and I have made a new friend. Thanks Ben! Hope to get many tips from this site.

Interesting. Looks like someone spliced into the brake line for something...maybe a cheap way of making a "dual" circuit?
I have also never seen an air cleaner like that.
Anyway, I have seen your work, keep us posted on the progress because it should be sweet. Are you going to keep this one?

Nice buy. Starting with good bones is the way to go. Pics, pics, pics!!!!!!

looks like fjbens truck

thats cause it was :frown: somethings came up and I wasn't able to keep it for a few reasons...I think it went to a great place! he does amazing work and can't wait to see the finished truck...and meet him...since he comes up to Ft. Collins a few times a year.

My friend gave me a great deal on his FJ40 which coincidently worked out well and will serve nicely while we attempt to get rid of debt and move to a better neighborhood.

Thanks again Chris, can't wait to see what happens.

What truck?? I don't see anything in the driveway.

What the hell, the damn thing must be camoflaged or something...

Looks like you have a very serious cruiser fetish and do some damn nice work. Can't wait to see how this turns out. good luck and give us lots of pics.

Did you happen to get a service maunual with it? ;) Sorry to see it leave ben, but at least it went to a good home.

Ft Collins

Chris- Nice find. That will be perfect when you are through.

Not to steel your awesome thread..sort of on topic but who runs the cruiser shop in Ft Collins that is to be avoided at all costs? I heard through a contact in Denver, CO a while back that there was a nice shop in town with some guy named Mike G. (fair prices and awesome work) and then also a shop to avoid that gives it to cruiser guys the "hard way". We have a friend down there who needs to overhaul his 60 engine and I want to make sure I recommend him to the right shop. Maybe this FJben knows the good from the bad. PM me if need be please.

Thanks

Aaron

fort collins

Ditto for me on Coyote Cruisers. I have stopped by several times and they have been more than helpful and eager to show you their work. Never had anything done, but I have bought a few parts and of course, a tshirt. I am a big believer in doing work with good people and they impressed me as great people.
