Well, I have owned my rig for 3 1/2 days and the build up has begun! Picked up a new set of shoes last night. After much consideration I when with the 285/75/16 BFG AT/KO's. Had this tire on my recently sold 80 before I went to the Toyo MT's and had very good luck with them. I Didn't want to go with an MT due to the type of wheeling I will be doing with this rig.

I also removed the running boards last night. Sure make a big difference. Next up.... OME Lift! :) I have attached a few Before and After pictures for those of you who want to see..

I got 285 BFG ATs two weeks ago and they really fill out the wheel wells. No running board removal for a while because I have 2 small children. Maybe in a couple of years. Your LC already looks much better.

Nice start to the mods. Looks great!

It's really amazing how much better the 100 looks by removing those running boards !!

Those tires look really nice as well. That looks like the best size for a non lifted 100. They fill the wheel wells nicely without looking disproportionate like 315's I have seen on non lifted 100's. Good looking rig !!

Hi uzj100, can you post pics of your truck with 285 BFG with running board? Do you have 16 or 18 inch rims? I am considering changing my 2 year old Goodyear and 20 inch rim back to the original 16-inch rims. Now looking for some new tires to go with it. Like you, I have a small kid and would still need the running boards on.

1loudLX,

Thanks! Nice truck! That gives me a good idea on what to expect. I have the japanese spec VX 100, same color as yours. Does the bigger sized BFG interfere with the AHC?

Anyway, just ordered them and will get them put on this pm. they are about 230 bucks a piece here in Bangkok, Thailand.

Loud, how do the BFG's work in the snow? I'm gonna need new tires soon and have always liked the look of those.

those tires were fricking amazing, i put them on the day of a snowstorm, so i had my michelins on and the bfgs on during the same day for back to back testing. Too bad my damn wheels caused problems with the larger size but im putting stocks on soon so i can go large again.

Zane, if you ever come across snow, which i doubt haha...dont sweat it.

I had a set of these BFG's on my 80 for two years before I got my Toyo MT's and they did great in the mid-west ice and snow we get here in Missouri. I have little concern that they will be any different on the 100.

I've never seen 315's on a non lifter 100??? Is this possible??? I guess there would be all kinds of rubbing issues???

Zane, you are causing me trouble. I was ready to nab a 100 about 6 months ago and held off. Seeing yours just refueled my desire to add a second cruiser to my garage. Nice rig.

Ha... Glad I could help push you in the right direction! :) I took my time looking for one and was willing to travel anywhere in the country to find one that was right for me. I just got lucky and found one that was only 250 miles away from me..

Great look on the truck! I am getting ready to replace the tires that came from the dealership, 265/75 R16 No names with BFG AT's. I have run the BFG's for years and had great luck for wear and handling. What I would like to know, is how is the power loss going to 285's over the 265's and is there any rubbing if you are really twisting up the suspension? We go on a lot of trail runs here in CO and I need to make sure this thing still works.

zane, your thread has ALMOST convinced me to buy BFGs to put on my black wheels instead of swapping my LTX's......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

must....save....money....for.....bumper

BFG's

Pint, here is what we do. We swap vehicles next time it snows. I get to see how the suspension is and you get to see how well new BFG's in a 285 size feel in the snow.

Hey Loud, I thought you sold your BFG's this year? or was it last year? Regrets, have you?

Ok, Here it is... finally got rid of the Goodyear Eagle GT II 285 50 20 and went and got the BFG A/T KOs 285 75 16.

The grill comes off next. :D
