Some pics of the repairs I've made. First of the hood struts. Nice that they are US made.

Changed out the oil pressure switch and the gauge is working correctly now.

Tried to install old school 2F oil filter, but it will not clear the frame. Pic side by side with the filter the car had on it which turned out to be slightly shorter than OEM.

Installed Fumoto oil drain valve. Very nicely built and considered OEM for many manufacturers. Made in Japan and sure makes oil changes a lot nicer.

Took cross country road trip and poser shot. Where are we? :)

Engine Oil Drain Undercover was missing, so picked up this part and bolts to replace.

I always liked the original performance of OEM NWB Wiper Blades. However, the replacement ones from the Toyota Parts Department are not NWB. So, the aftermarket NWB are the ticket. I don't know if they are totally identical as what came on the Cruiser, but they sure work great! Anybody know if they are the same?

Power Steering Pressure Hose was leaking. So today's project was a repair. New OEM assembly is around $400 roughly so looked for a better option and Carquest does hydraulic hose repairs. We'll give this a shot.

Quick trip to Carquest and about 15 minutes yielded a new Gates hydraulic hose and fittings to mate up to the Toyota lines. Nice and a lot cheaper too!

A few pics of the final install. Bled the system, topping off, and all good.

Did a few other little things, like a Denso Air Filter, Sea Foam in the gas tank, rotate tires, and Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease in the driveshafts. I can't believe how much grease I pumped in those shafts, but no more clunk.

I need to look at the spare tire. I think there is some kind of key/lock setup. Is the face of the rim supposed to point up or down? Does anybody know how they came originally? Thanks.

Wheel should face up. If you can't find the key anywhere, I think you can unbolt the spare tire bracket/tire in one unit. While you are at it, there is an easy spare tire lift mod that can give you a little more clearance.

Look in the tire tool bag. The key will have a wobble head and fit on the end of the long extension that goes through the bumper hole.

Haven't messed with the spare yet, been real busy. Sunday the NAPA battery died hard. So bad that half of the lights on the cluster wouldn't light up; volt meter barely made it to 9v. Being that it was only 5 months old and I had no receipt, I took it in to see what they would do. They traded it out for a 27F battery this time for free. We'll see how it holds up.
