Well, this is my first post on the hundy board. I've had an 80 for 5 years and just bought a matching 100. I look forward to expanding my LC knowledge on this board. I'm experienced enough to be proactive with the welcome sign! :flipoff2:

Welcome to the dark side :flipoff2:. Nice to own both an 80 and a 100!

What year 100 did you get? I like the color, looks like the one in my driveway. :)

I used to be in that club 'til I sold my 91 FJ80 :crybaby:

I updated my signature. It's a 1999. I couldn't pass it up on my way home from work Friday. The hundy is a TX bought and owned truck for the life of the car. 120K miles and dealer maintained from day 1. Timing belt serviced at 91K. It is really clean. My only complaint is with the wood trim because it has some sore spots. Are most people experiencing discoloration on the wood pieces?

I have a 99 and my wood is experiencing some milky type spots in places. I'm going to eventually just peel it off but it is a lot easier to do that on a hot summer day.

i pealed most of the faux wood off my truck. not too hard, but its a job best saved for summer time around here. you must be careful because the black plastic scratches easily. mine came out OK, its only a truck anyhow.

i often see 80s and think that i should add one to the herd. you're stoked!

Nice my white 100 is also a 1999. I wish it was a southern truck, it does have some surface rust on the frame. Although its been taken care of and also has 120k miles on it. My wood trim is also bad in places and I will most likely be taking it off next summer.

Welcome! We are currently looking at procuring an 80 series to go with our white '02. It too will be white. Kind of a theme, you think?

Congrats! Must be nice to have both!

White is the best color because it never fades and always looks clean for the most part. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. You guys are just as cool as the 80 board.

Time to roll up my sleeves for the 120k service:
Change-
spark plugs
fuel filter
flush injectors
oil and add M1 5w30 high mileage with the 90915-20004 filter
air filter
tranny fluid
diff fluid
coolant (toyota red)
main pulley belt

new antenna mast assy (radio stations are weak)

did I miss anything else for the 120K service?

My local cruiser shop wants $900. I'm about to have a week off at Christmas and should get this done for under $200 myself. What do you think?

I would do that list myself for $700 and have done most of them.

I seriously doubt the injectors need anything. Dump two large bottles of Techron or Gunk Regain in the tank and call it good.

That looks like a good mornings worth of work. I like days where I am paid over $100 an hour tax free!

i spent $460 on these:

transmission PM $160 drain/fill 20 qts M1 ATF (86% new)
engine PM $44 Napa filter, M1, drain valve
coolant PM $70 flush 20 gal distilled and 2 gal. TLL
transfer case, diffs PM $60 drain/fill M1
brakes PM $20 flush Penzoil syn
steering PM $8 flush M1 ATF
intake PM $28 replace filter x2
antennae $70

add in your belt, spark plugs and fuel filter, and can of fuel system cleaner. i would almost pay the local cruiser shop $900. but the satisfaction is priceless
