I have a door speaker makeing that horrible blown-out sound. What is a decent replacement? I have the factory head unit and would like to stick with it....just not the factory $$$ replacement speakers

I put Morel separates in the front and 2x in the rear doors, all from Crutchfield... the sound clarity in the front seats is astounding. Vocals in the music are crisp and clear. Factory head unit retained, with BT 45toy from US Spec.

The front was some work and creativity. Ended up grinding out a bigger hole in the factory tweeter grills and hot gluing the new tweeters into place. Worth every penny. The factory speakers suck.

I've been eyeing the Morels as well. Did you go Maximo or Tempo? I've heard great things about them both for their respective price levels.

The fronts were around $125- $150 if I remember correctly. They were on sale at the time. Rears were $79 - $95 range? I think all four doors were <$250. The rears were simple to install after doing the fronts. Fronts not bad, just modifying the tweeter grill and mounting the crossover were additional steps.

About two years ago I changed out all the factory grill cloth with newer acoustic material I sourced locally. They now look and sound way better than Mr T designed.

Awesome, that sounds like the Maximo model then. The Tempo's are $400-500 for a pair. Good to know the Maximo's are a notable improvement, thanks! I'll likely pick up a pair.
