I want ton convert brakes on my FF axle. I want it to be as light and cheap as possible.

My first tougth would be to buy the Wilwood calipers that are on the Trail Gear web site. They are 129$ a piece (toyota vented v6 are 119$) and lighter than Toy's.

My main concern are the rotors they should not be larger than say 13" (15" wheels), they should fit the wheel pattern, fit the bigger hub AND be 3/8" thick!!

Someone know wich rotor I can use?

I tougth about pickup front and widen the hub hole but they are near 0.5 inch thick.

They also have aluminum brake hats and caliper discs on their site with the 9" axle stuff.

That should be about as light as you'll get.

You will need to make a bracket to mount that caliper I assume, and there is not provisions for an ebrake with that caliper.

That Trail Gear hats and rotors will pût the build around 700$ and the bracket is not good for my FF axle.

If I only buy tow Wilwood calipers and fit thème on some stock rotors and make museler the bracket, it Will be more around 300$.

No e-brake needed. I have a Line lock installed.

mid 90's chevy front rotors with the centers machined.

JT outfitters may have some info on their site for what parts that will work.

4runner v6 calipers may work, or supras or the monte carlo's. They will be cheaper than the TG's.

Edit: the chevy rotors I believe are closer to 1" but they work with monte carlo calipers, you may be able to get a hold of some pajero rotors, depending on the year there are some about that thickness, or try isuzu or pathfinders, the bolt patterns are the same I believe though it is possible they may need the centers machined.

I already have solid Isuzu rear rotors from a 1991 Trooper II. I also too the calipers because they already had e-brake cable on them. I no longer need that e-brake because I have line locks.

check out TSMMFG.com they have the complete FF disc brake kit using the monte-carlo calipers. They seeam to work well. They use the chevy front rotor as well. Not sure it needs machining for the FF but the semi-floater does for sure.

Your saying you have isuzu calipers and they have an ebrake function to them?

Whats the width to the rotor for that caliper, and what year of trooper is it from?

Sorry for my precedent writing faults. I'm french and using my ipad with the corrector that wants to frenchise the words.

So, the Isuzu Trooper II is a 1991 (4 doors). I'm using the rear setup (rotor, calipers and cable). I did the brackets. The rotor is 1/2" thick. What I don't like in this setup is that the piston needs to be screwed in when changing the pads.

I'm finally building my own setup with front 1984 Toy solid axle pickup rotors and Wilwood calipers. It Will cost me around 500$ and fit in a 15" wheel (Trail Gear setup is for 17" wheels). That solid rotor is 1kg lighter than my front LCs and Will not clog with mud in the vent holes. The calipers are also lighter and only 20$ more expansive than new vented calipers like those I have in the front.

Calipers are 138$ each
Rotors are 36$ each
Pads are 41$
Machining is 60$
I Will also need proper flex hoses.

Will post pics asap
