Hey y'all. I'm in need of a solid recommendation for a paint shop in the Portland, OR area. I'm not looking for a show-quality paint job by any means, but definitely something that will survive the wear and tear of wife and kids:)

I'll post some photos of the recently (i.e. today) primed and ready rig as soon as I can. I'm thinking of going just white on the body and then black on the hood and roof. Like a big Oreo:)

Thanks all!

Artistic Auto Body did a good job for me, both on my Land Cruiser and my BMW - accident repair on both (Cruiser had a dinged rear corner when I bought it and the M3 got a nose job while parked)

I plan on using them to shoot the roof when i yank off the rust rack.

Thanks uncle. Mind if I ask what you paid? I'm just looking for something simple you know? Not show quality by any means.

Yeah. I'd probably just have the interior shot with the same paint though (if that is possible). Nothing too exciting, just durable that won't be peeling or whatnot in a year you know? Pretty simple color scheme too...white:) Not sure exactly which kind of white, but something along the glacier pearl white I've seen.

At some point I'd like the hood and roof painted black, but I think I could probably end up handling that in a year or so.

How much $$ do you want to spend? I can shoot it for you outa my garage in a couple months. Maybe do a tintable Raptor liner on the inside? I would need the rig for a couple weekends. You would have to do some things like removing the trim / bright work, all seats minus the drivers, etc...

Any body work?

Let me know if your interested.

Definitely interested. How much? Well...4th kid on the way kinda leaves small wiggle room for paint you know:) I'm only looking to shoot this piggy in white (inside and out). Something along these lines is the theme I'm envisioning...not really that exciting:)

Hey Greek. Let's talk paint. What can you do? Whereabouts? What kinda budget am I looking at?

I am in Salem, I could not do it until I finish my 76 (4-6 weeks) then I would prob charge around 500 bucks for inside and out. Thats to prep and shoot it, but you have to buy the supplies.

Hows that sound? Please remember I am not a pro, nor do I have a pro painting booth, so keep that in mind. You may want to see if you can rent a booth for a day, we could at least get the outside done in a booth without worrying about dust etc...

That might work out great. I got a quote from a private guy today for $2000 to shoot it with two-stage paint. White inside and out, and black on the hood and roof. Pretty good quote compared to everywhere else thus far, but that's still $2000! That's a ton of cash for us and buys a LOT of diapers!

I found a booth in Springfield we can rent. Its 100 for 8 hours, 150 for 24 hrs, so as long as we had it ready to go, we could do the outside and let it dry overnight, then drive it home.

This way, we can get it done earlier too because I wont need my garage, and you will get better results because of the no-dust booth etc.

I'm not sure if I would go two or single stage. I'll leave that up to you...
