Looking at a 2005 with 150k. It was a New England and Idaho car. He says the rear axle has some significant rust, and there is a little bit here and there on some of the body mounts. Trying to gauge how bad this is. Any input appreciated. My buddy is concerned about some of the welds, the body mounts, and that the exhaust had to be replaced from rusting out.

When steel delaminates and can be penetrated with a hammer or screwdriver then you have serious issues. Surface rust can often be dealt with.

Agreed, it looks great. Cleaner than mine was. If you do buy it, I would still get it undercoated with Woolwax/FluidFilm/Krown to keep it that nice.

That axle housing would take another 200 years to rust through probably, not a concern IMO. The rest looks about as good as it gets for the age outside of the odd desert unicorn.

For that age and region? Cherry🍒.

Thanks for all of the replies! It's obviously a really nice vehicle. I ultimately went with one locally here in Denver that I had also been looking at, but this one (in Boise, ID) is still for sale and most definitely a good buy for anyone looking!

That looks great. My Chicago native 06 is so jealous lol
