Just an FYI:

Since it's the season for wiper blades, just thought I'd put it out for those who don't know:

Carquest 18-53 Exact Fit wiper blades are a perfect match for OE. Comes with new screws, too, which you have to order separately if you buy from Mr. T. $9 each. No crap plastic adapters. Carquest blade is the installed one. One on top is OE from Mr. T.

No exact-fit blade for rear, but that's a diff setup.

Made by Trico, so I'm sure there's a trico equivalent, but don't know that number.

Good info Spike!!
What would you suggest for a rear wiper that currently only clears half of the window, I get full sweep, but it seems like there isn't enough pressure to get the top portion??
Cheers and Happy New Year!

Very good. Thanks.

John

I'd try a new wiper assy as above, like Bosch or OE and you may have the bend the arm a bit. The arm that attaches to the pivot.

Try a 1 inch longer for more window swipe.

Napa also has a direct fit blade with new screws as well.

Zack

Well scratch what I said in 2013, Napa no longer sells a direct fit blade with new screws....it is NLA. So what are the options now? Does Toyota still sell replacement wiper blades that have the metal tab attached with new screws? If not Toyota, then does anyone still make real wiper blades?
I would rather stick with the OEM set up as opposed to changing to the hook style if possible. If I must change over to the hook style, I have read that I need new 4Runner or Tacoma wiper arms? If So what year(s) should I get from Beno?

Thanks,
Zack

PS: I am looking for the type of blade in the picture in the first post....

Might be stating the obvious but...Looks like your local CarQuest brand...

I have run wiper arm/blades off a 99 4Runner and a 95 Land Cruiser. Both worked well.

Look at how long your rear wiper is , it may be to long so it wipes over the trim. (turn it on and go watch it)Mine is 2 inches to long and does exactly what you are describing.

I've got the correct length rear wiper, had to bend the flat arm a bit, like Spike.
Swapped in 4runners at windshield and they work fine.

Toyota offers

1.wiper inserts, this is just the rubber(both US made and Jap made, one is better rubber)

2. or you can get new blades, rubber with blade

3. or you can get new arms, which you would attach #2

I only use OEM inserts in all my Cruisers, I have bought new blades and arms over the years.

that said Toyota screwed around in the last few years, I had a bunch of old inserts, but they do not fit the US/Toy/OEM new blades.....so all those were worthless.

I would like to get beam style wiper blades for Billy but would probably have to change the arms. Hopefully someone here will post a part number for the 4runner or newer LC wiper arms. I just got a set of these style blades for my Camry and they are superior to the old style wipers. Real nice.

Also I ordered new arms from Cruiserparts and my rear wiper goes over the window and wipes about 3 inches of the rear hatch. Pretty annoying and I don't think they make blades as small I will need with this arm.

Rock auto has supplied me with the screw on blades for a while now.
