John , get ahold of Mountain cruiser. He and his friend Blake just lifted a 3rd gen 4Runner and can give you some feedback I am sure. It turned out real well.

Look at toyteclifts.com for the front and 80 series springs for the back. I lifted my 2000 4runner about 3- 3.5 inches, anymore and you will be running into problems with the IFS.

The toytec is very reasonable, but any of the spacers for the front with a lift coil for the rear work well (toytec just sells new rear 80 springs with the kit). Ditto on no more than 3" of lift as the IFS will then hyper extend the half-shafts. In my personal opinion I would add limit straps up front to help save your half-shafts in the long run, though not common in the 4x4 world, limit straps should come factory on IFS 4x's. Also the rear pan hard bar needs to be lengthened as the axle wont be centered after you lift the rear.

John,
I have run several on my 01 for a number of years. I X2 on the sonoran steel options; tundra springs up front, 80 in the real, new rubicon Express links, and panhard, and diff drop.
Best option out there for quality.

If he wants to "roll his own" I know where there are a couple of TRD (Bilstein) Tundra struts. Also '80 series coils and stock rear shocks.
