Sweet, thanks! My truck is a 22R, so I am not used to all the EFI stuff. I would much rather have the EFI though.

OK, been working on this sucker all day, and I can not find the stock wire that goes to the starter. The wire with a plug on the end of it. Pictures anyone? I have almost everything else done, almost ready to fire over. Also it is missing the sensor that goes on top of the EFI intake.

ok the last pic is were the temp sensor goes, the first pic looks like the ground wire for the injectors, that goes under one of the studs between the intake runners and intake air box. and from the first pick the main starter wire looks to be hooked up. what is the wire with the plastic connector for?
also take the oil sending wire off and let the starter wire hang below it. and sorry but looks like the wire for the starter is hanging right there with the plastic connector on it.

OK, got the ground strap taken care of. As for the wire for the starter, what I am looking for is, the black plastic connection that would connect to the bottom side of the starter. That is the wire we can not seem to locate. As you see in the picture, the small black plastic connection under the starter. In my own truck, my stock wire is missing, and it is hard wired from my starter to my ignition switch inside the steering column. I am afraid this is what we are going to have to do, in order to turn the starter over. Any suggestions? Does what I am saying make sense? Also just noticed that the green connector that rides on top of the distributor is missing! what a mess this thing is!

http://www.toyodiy.com/ has parts diagrams. You'll need the VIN# for the truck. They also can be allot of help figuring out what goes where.

Where can I buy the temp sensor that goes into the EFI manifold? Now is that the air temp sensor, or water temp sensor? AutoZone does not carry the sensor.

I PM'd him with my question. Thank you.

pull-a-part... Grab a phone book and start calling all the salvage yards..

I just broke a BVSV (goes in the same hole, only for carb engines) and Toyota quoted me $80.

I got two from pull-a-part at @ $5 after taxes...

did you call cdan?
i would rather get a sensor my computer uses from cdan than from a salvage yard.

There are no moving parts... And sensors don't really have reliability problems...

As much as I feel OEM parts are the best in the world... Running to Toyota for every seal, gasket, bearing or sensor does not make much financial sense...

:meh: to each his own... I saved $75 in my case...

you are correct, except when you get a sensor from junkyard you do not know, so if the poster has a fsm and can test it before he installs it than that is fine.
that sensor might just control the temp gauge.
but i think that it sends info to the computer too.
