OK here we go... I have a 1977 FJ40 and when I got several years ago, the temp gauge didn't work... Upon closer inspection, the wire coming from the temp sending unit was cut, and not connected to anything... I tried finding the other side of the cut wire to no aval...The wire coming off the sending unit is Green... And from what I've found here on mud the wide coming off the gauge cluster should be yellow...Well there is not yellow wire there...
What I would like to know is what pin on the plug on the back of the instrument cluster would be the correct pin to the wire that would go to the temperature sending unit......They are numbered..
This would be awesome for me to find out, because I just had to have my head machined because I blew my head gasket... I also just replace the radiator, hoses, & thermostat...
I know someone on here will know....
