Looking for some help on figuring out what these wires are for in my 76. They're under the driver's side dash (two near the fuses, two alongside the heater), right where I was hoping to find the power for my missing cab light and heater control light. I'm not getting power from any of them.

Left of the steering column:

Near the heater:

It looks like your wiring may still be oem, so a wiring diagram might help figuring things out if you don't have one already.

Coolerman has downloads of schematics and other docs available on his site. Really handy for chasing down those color-coded wires.

Red/black should be the dome light for the b pillar.
the second is the light bulb (missing) for the headlight switch illumination I believe
near the heater should be a light above the heater mechanism handle that changes between heat/defrost.
I can't see the wire colors for that, but it plugs in with 2 bullet connectors.

I have some wiring scheme’s and could lend a hand. You know hold light etc. lol. Ill DM with cell

I think I've gotten everything identified, just moving into why I'm not getting power at either location. I do see the headlight switch base is missing a bulb and was detached from the back of the switch...

Not sure about your year, but on my 79, the heater control light, two instrument cluster lights and the light that plugs into the rear of the headlight switch are all powered by the dimmer rheostat in the headlight switch.

The dimmer is activated by turning the headlight knob. On my 79, full counter-clockwise is on max.

These rheostats can corrode and often need a bit of cleaning to work properly.
