Hey guys - I need a hand.

I'm trying to find a picture (and I think I will be successful - I hope) of my father's first car. I believe it was a 60 something Chevy Impala, 2 door, black. He used to speak very fondly of it. My father passed away just before Christmas 2006 from cancer and I think it would be nice to have a car like his first. So...this is just a heads up. If anyone knows much about 60's Impalas please keep an eye on this thread. I'll post up a pic as soon as I can find one. It might be a few weeks but I'm determined to find one.

Juice,

I know'em pretty good. My dad had a '63 Impala. Grew up next door to chevy dealer who was always driving new cars home. For it to be an Impala, it needs 3 tail lights on each side. The Bel-Aire is similar but only has two tail lights on each side.

any idea what it looked like? this is my F-I-L's '65 with the original evening orchid color (not original paint though) - note that is not me, it is my F-I-L,....it has a 327 under the hood and is completely stock and he's the second owner of it....

give me some of the years you're looking for and I can have him keep his eyes peeled.

Good lookin' car, Steve. My dad's was white and had a 283 in it. First engine I ever worked on. Car was stolen once due to the ignition switch that allowed key removal without locking the ignition switch. Thieves used it in a burglary and was returned to us after recovery with a toolbox full of craftsman tools in the back seat. Officers said it was not from the burglary and said we could keep 'em. That was about 1968. Still have many of those tools today.

I stopped and looked at one on Saturday that is for sale here in Albany, GA. It was in great shape. White ext, red int, 283 engine. It is for sale at a local bank. Believe it or not, I think it may a repo. The sign on the window says to call the banker an make a bid. Do you want me to get more info?
