Need help bending gas pedal.

Hello Folks:

I installed front floor mats and sound proofing in the FJ40 now I need to bend the gas pedal over an inch or so to the left to clear the mat.

I believe the best way to bend the pedal is to heat it up. However, I only have a butane torch which I do not believe will heat the metal enough for me to bend. Does anyone have acetylene (or something) that can help me bend the metal.

Other advice is welcomed. Note: I do not have any bench mounted clamps.

Can you cut some of the skinny pedal or is the whole shaft hitting?
