I recently traded a 71 roadrunner for a sweet 67 40. chevy 350 with all yota drivetrain. I swapped the hooley 850 for a edelbrock 1406. I took it out on some mod trails and fell in love. I the traded my dirt bike for brand new bfg 35's and did a SOA. WOW. my question is, I would like to go with bigger gears but do not know how to find out what I have and where to go. the 40 was completely unmolested when I got her.Rough but untouched mechanically:confused:

Stock gears would be 4.11:1.

Do you still have the 3-speed and factory T-case?

Are you going to use this as a Dailey Driver or a trail rig?

On my blue 1976 FJ40 I have 2F, H42, RockBox, Orion 3:1 and 4:11's and love it for trail and street rollling on 35"s.

On my 1974/1976 FJ40.5 one I have 2F, H42, Stock Split Case and 4:88's rlling on 38's. It is great for the highway but no low enough for serious trail.

Yes I still have stock 3 spd and t-case. I will be using it mostly on trails but will drive to them some areas I go are 600 miles away
