My 40 as show on pictures, have drum brakes, its a 1980 .last owner take the hole OEM disc axle and swap for this one. He have 2 more TLC 40 but from 1971..so i guess the drum one its same year . Know its better for me look for another late model disc type, or look for mini truck 1979-1985 and change everything inside ? .Does the 1980 rear and front 1971 have the same gears ?

I'm in a slow resto project and if i have to spend money on any options i would like to do it 1 time only. Also im waiting for a response for fj60 1986 that are for parts ...so how i dont have any lift yet..will be better swap both 60 axle's and do SOA on my 40 using the 60 springs also ?

I don't plan to use my 40 for DD but i can cos my job its 3 miles from my house :D.... thanks

Just depends on how much work you want to do. If it was mine I would get the 60 knuckles and swap them onto your 40 axle. If you are going S/O then you could swap the whole axle's under and get a little width, but I think you need to get creative with one of the spring perches that is close to the diff housing??
