The nubby on the spring steel part that (is supposed to) ride against the round flat contact is gone. (see pics). I tried to replace it with a bead of solder but (as I was warned) it didn't last. I'd like to avoid buying a whole new assembly. (but if I do how can I tell if this is pre 9/77 or 9/77 and up? Apparently that is a cut off for different versions of the assembly)

Any suggestions for a good fix? I'm thinking maybe a tiny screw and nut through the hole might do it. It'll have to be awfully small though.
