I hope everyone’s ok

Sliders did well. I’m concerned about the front wheel, there’s likely some suspension damage too

Susp. Needed upgrading anyway, just hope frame and the rest is ok.

Be sure to check the frame. She got you good for sure. I'm glad you're ok - this sucks for sure.

Those BB sliders are amazing. With that said, they definitely will transfer her impact into your driver side frame rail. I don't know how to check it, but make sure your frame is still square.

Godspeed.

Oh, man... :( Sucks to see a fellow HE damaged like this. I gotta say it does not look good from a frame standpoint. Hope I am wrong. Is that an F150? She was probably speeding as well...that damage does not match with a stop sign cross speed limit.

In all honesty, I’m not sure I’d want to have it repaired. There was a large amount of energy transferred under that A-pillar. I’ve seen worse repaired for collectible sports cars - but the repair efforts were beyond meticulous. It’s hard to get a normal repair shop to go to that level for newer vehicles. I’d very likely be pushing for payout and then pickup another one that’s not been in an accident.

That looks like an F-150 Lightning that hit you. I believe that vehicle weighs more than your 200. I'd be looking for a payout and buy a new to you HE. The comps should only be for HE's, as you know. Sorry about that, man. I'm glad you're okay.

This was estimated at $60K to fix. It was a 2013 so totaled and then some.

More than 1/2 the cost was the front fender. Lots of structural inner fender that is all welded. Body shops don’t want this kind of work.

I know what everybody else is saying but to me that looks like it could be fixed . Now whether or not you wanted fixed it is a whole different ball game.

Stuart's Paint & Body, Plano TX. While they are big in the exotics community, I seem to remember regular cars being in the shop too when I had to use them. I would use them again.

That'd make a heck of a wheeler. Cut off all that bad sheet metal. Tube fenders and doors...

Progressive (her insurance) wants to total it. I’m trying to decide if I want the headache or not of the repair and then having to deal with and insure a “salvaged” title. Insurance is a thing even after a repair of this magnitude. I should have some information/proposal from them in the next day or two. Problem is the $30k in upgrades and the logistics told removing them all and then installing on a new to me HE. I may do my best to negotiate as much as I can for the settlement, then decide what to do next. The sliders totally absorbed the hit and actually it was folded down towards the ground about an inch which tells me the frame box might have twisted. So freakin’ sad. I love the thing so much and put so much time, money, and work into it. Thanks for your help guys! I’ll keep you posted as to how screwed I get. Good news, I just saw a 2020 with 302 miles traded at $161,000 and I think there is still one on BaT north of $90k with 35,000 miles.

I’m sorry to hear about the accident. That’s not fun at all, but the cruiser did its job and protected you against a heavy EV truck… that’s impressive.

Count your lucky stars they want to total it out. Even the best body shops will have a hard time getting that back to factory condition.

The next struggle is fighting the insurance company on comparables so you don’t get hosed on the payout value. I would do some research on recent cars which have sold on BAT that have similar miles so you have some evidence since the KBB/NADA value is going to come in a bit low, as they don’t price in the heritage edition market premium enough.

Also, is the insurance company okay with you stripping the mods off of it?

Let’s also cross our fingers the insurance company doesn’t blame the aftermarket sliders on the frame being damaged, for the bulk reason on why the vehicle is being totaled. That can get ugly quick. However, you likely have an out given the damage to the body panels, and the frame may not factor into the equation anyway.

Very sad indeed. Been there. The Steve Austin Project - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/the-steve-austin-project.1313437/

The logistics of moving mods over could be significant depending. I had over 30k of stuff too. In the end, the only way I could figure out to do it was to buy the salvage truck back from the insurance company and take the payout. That gave me time to find another truck and move all the stuff over. It took months and months in my case All chronicled in the thread I pasted it above.

The key was negotiating the value of the truck with the mods, and in my case, though the insurance company took forever they ultimately paid a fair value, including the mods for the truck. I got lucky in that the evaluation of the salvage truck really didn’t include the mods so win for me. Your truck will get $20,000 all day long at Copart auction as long as it runs and moves under its own power. Copart is a little odd in that some locations do not let individuals auction vehicles. It’s only for insurance companies. There’s one local to me but in Kansas I couldn’t sell it myself however, I found one in Missouri not too far that did let private citizens auction vehicles.

Good luck.

You may be right, but the last part about the insurance company blaming should be a non starter IMO as OP was hit...he didn't hit the lady who was in the wrong. I'd venture to bet dollars to donuts the insurance co and other driver are going to be glad he doesn't sue for personal injury, etc and will seek closure to this sooner than not. idk how Progressive is to deal with, but can say there are some terrible companies out there selling insurance that we've all heard of.

Godspeed, @BIC JET

Photos say it's totalled, no surprise at all. I'd just press for the best price you can get and move on. FWIW, progressive gave me a very reasonable price when I rolled my 4runner... I didn't even need to fight them for it. That was a good 13 years ago though. Ended up buying it back to strip/sell some parts.

Collision Safety Consultants, I see their ads on Facebook all the time. Might want to hire them to see if you can get a number that will make you happy.

Also as an aside I went on Copart and IAAI and was shocked to see pages of 2019-21 200s that have been sold in the last year. Especially HE’s.
