Need some opinions from people that have ever used an oil stop leak additive. Is this stuff safe to use in say a 12HT motor? I have some nuisance small leaks coming from about 3 different spots, enough to be annoying but not enough to do extensive work on them.

Do these additives ruin the seals in the process of stopping the leak?

It's a chemical that makes rubber expand so yes it is bad for your seals, If you care about the truck fix it properly, if not go ahead with stop leak, i tried it once on a car I paid 500$ and it never really worked..

I have a 12H-T, where are your oil leaks? Rocker cover? Push rod side covers? I would not put that stuff in my engine.

I used it on my 2F once, didn't work for me. Reason being what was leaking was not a rubber seal. It was a welch plug between the bell housing and motor (didn't know this until I went to fix it). It filled the cavity and held for a while (don't really remember how long). You or I can't really expect it to fix the non-rubber leak, but I will not be putting that stuff in my motor again.

It's not leaking. It's marking its territory.
