I just had my alternator rebuilt at a shop that said after they were done it doesn't produce any volts. Upon taking it home and inspecting it I noticed there is a piece missing behind it that was connected to one of the terminals that is no longer there. If anybody knows what and where I could get this piece from that would be awesome. Btw the shop never charged me but I have a new shiney door stop. Will try to post pics

It's a capacitor for electrical noise limiting, makes no difference in the unit working.
Pull the rear cover off and make sure everything is in order.

Tools r us - Thanks for response just found out what it was for.
Chitown - I pulled the cover off and found some of the coil tips were close to the rotor and bent them back. Then had it checked and it was making 11.5 volts. I was told it could be bad diodes or something.
So I just ordered an oem one hopefully that'll last another 20+ yrs
