Need a sanity check: car fell off lift getting new KO3s installed (3 Viewers)

I was getting new tires today at (a national tire place). They had the car jacked up, with all four wheels off. Evidently an employee leaned on the floor jack button, which started to rise and knocked my 80 off the jacks and directly onto the floor.

They have assured me that their insurance will cover all damage 100%. But, I’m looking for a sanity check for things to look out for other than what might be obviously visible. I wasn’t at the shop when this occurred, I came in a couple hours later and was briefed on the situation by the manager.

The only damage I can see is in the pictures posted. My muffler was also kind of ripped in half.

I’m assuming this landed directly on the rotors which I haven’t been able to take a look at yet. Anyone been through a similar situation? Not trying to get anything free that I don’t deserve, but don’t want to get taken advantage of either. Luckily nobody was hurt. Right now I most upset about the inconvenience this is going to cause.

I'd have it inspected and measured by a qualified body/frame shop. It seems unlikely for it to have come down evenly onto just the rotors, unless you mean the lift fell to the floor with the truck still on it.

IME some tire shops will use 2-4 floor jacks (2 front or 2 rear, or 4 for the whole vehicle at the same time) to raise a vehicle instead of using the lift just because it's quicker (or because they don't have a lift in each bay).

Question is, did the lift do that damage or did it come down on the floor jacks, or both?

One big concern would be any damage to the drive train and undercarriage components ie: if something was under the vehicle when it came down or if the lift itself pushed up on anything causing damage like a cracked transmission/transfer case, dented lower oil pan, cracked upper oil pan, bent axle housing, damaged driveshafts, dented fuel tank, damaged brake lines, fuel lines, suspension tweaked, frame bent, etc, etc.

Either way IMHO it needs a major inspection done by a Toyota dealer and a body/collision shop.

Demand new Toyota parts for anything damaged, including the exhaust system.
