keep in mind the VVTI engines are few and far between.. I like buy 2001... look at u-tuber "the carcare nut" ... he is starting to see head gaskets deteriorate, etc. he has seen later ones get scrapped when used VVTI engines cannot be found if needed.. 98-2001 are simpler. parts everywhere. no Nav. so easy to upgrade stereo.. I do like the 4 speed in it. .. it is a cruiser.. it goes everywhere great smoothly at its own pace. I think 00-01 are the best year as No-Nav and A-Trac standard. as well as as 4 pinion front diff.
Nah dude a 100 series without a 5spd just ain’t it.

Be prepared to say wtf and scratch your head when you see how much clean LX's are going for.
Autotrader shows $20-40k ish. In 2006, I paid $40K for my '03 LX w/ 45K miles in AZ. Talk about holding its value!

i have a LS430 and LX470, they are the perfect complement to each other
x2. '05 LS is my DD, 195K mi. Parts for the LS's 3UZ 90K service are all the same as the LX except the radiator hoses and air filter, so you can buy the LS parts online from Toyota for a '03 LC.

Mostly thinking out loud here but need to decide on some wheel and tire setups. I've always run dedicated winter tires on my cars and not against that as an option here, even if not totally necessary

I don't mind the stock 18s but at a minimum would like to run 1-1.25" spacers. I also like the Tundra 18" 5 spokes and LX570 20" 10 spokes from 2013-2015

Maybe run LX570 20" with pavement friendly all-seasons and stock 18" LX or Tundra rims with something better suited for snow/off-pavement? I believe the offset of the two are both +60mm

Not sure of 20" tire size (any suggestions?) but thinking 275/65/18s

I like the stock 06-07 wheels too but didn't wanna run spacers so i opted for aftermarket wheels with 25 offset, works great with 275/70/18 only rub slightly on mud flaps. AHC in low mode to get the heavy azz ebikes off.

Can't blame you. They are definitely not ideal

Any reason in particular to avoid spacers on this platform? Other than the obvious, which is additional failure points

I have H&R spacers on my stock LS430 5 spokes and am pleased. Silent and very high quality. Think I'm at +25 rear +15 front on those

Bora spacers are strong, never had issues with them, but it's one less thing to take off when servicing bearings, doing brakes etc...

That makes sense. I guess haven't needed to remove them just yet on my LS

Do Boras come with studs installed or do you have to remove stock studs and replace with longer studs?

Brakes are a job I've always outsourced despite having the capacity. I do plan on taking the time to learn them on the LX
