need a carb....HELP! (1 Viewer)

After pulling the olh Holley 600 cfm off my truck its painfull obvious I need to chuck it in the bushes, so what do I put back on my FJ40?????

Engine Specs:

Chevy 283 cubic inch V-8. It's bored .040" over stock and with 40 over 10.1 : 1 flat top pistons. It has 327 powerpack heads with an Edelbrock performer semi-high rise dual plane intake. The cam is an Ultradyn 284 RV cam - 284 lift 410 duration - Accel HEI high voltage distributer.

Well, If your 600 is beyond help....I'd head over to summitracing.com and probably look at a Holley 650...certainly would not go any bigger on a 283 sb. Probably the cheapest easiest way to deal with it. My .02 worth.

A good factory quadrajet is my favorite. they will eat dirt and darn near run upside down. edelbrock has a new identical model now. but the salvage yard will have thousands that only need a rebuild and throttle plate bushings. about $40 when done

I run the factory 2jet on my 400 ci sb, factory except a rv (torque) cam.

If you keep buying Holley's you're going to end up with full bushes

Q-jet or even a dual jet would serve you better.

Better yet, go TBI.
