Can anyone identify the wire in the pics?
It is not the ignition coil connector.

The pictured wire smoked when trying to jump start the truck; the black sheathing was stripped in order to determine if the wire was damaged and if it needed replacing.
The wire runs from the assembly to a body ground which is shown in 2 of the pictures.
Though the copper looks good, I want to swap the unidentified wire since the coil assembly & coil connector wire will be replaced with new parts.

Side note: the A/C compressor stopped working after trying to jump start the truck.
A new Ignition Coil Assembly (19080-66010 OEM) & connector wire was purchased thinking that maybe the assembly was damaged during the failed jump start attempt; the swap has yet to be done until the wire in question can be identified and replaced.

Both battery connectors were replaced with new parts, battery wires were cleaned, and battery trickled charged to 100% capacity which resulted in the truck being started with no issues.

My local Toyota dealer says that they cannot give me info because the schematic that they use does not identify the part - which sounds like a line of bs.

I hate have to state the obvious, but... if it goes from any electrical component to ground, it is a ground wire for the component.

Mark...

There should be an insulated ground wire attached via a bolt to the bottom of the coil bracket Can't see all of it very well in the photo but it appears
to have burned (and missing) insulation (slipshod replacement?).

Yes several ground wires converge onto that bolt below the coil. One goes to the block one to the frame each via a connector.
