Hey guys, im phill, im from alexandria va and im new to the site. i picked up a 2007 tundra limited crewmax 4x4 about 3 months ago and have compiled a final list of what im going to do to it in the next couple months.

let me know what you think

Procomp 6" Lift with Coilovers
Front and Rear ARB air lockers
ARB compressor under the hood
N-Fab nerf steps
bud build skid plates
Expedition-One Front front winch bumper
Expedition-One Rear bumper
bushwacker fender flares (pocket style)
Toyo Open Country M/T's 35"
Fuel Mojave/Hostage Wheels
Custom Roof Rack/Tray
Hella Rallye 4000i and 4000i compact offroad hid lights
Line-X premium spray on bed liner
Superwinch EPi9.0s
Hi-Lift Jack Mounts

the bumpers, pocket style fender flares and nerf bars will be line-x'd black, the roof rack will also be black

the truck is super white.

should be an interesting build, the guys at iron pig offroad will be helping with most of the install.

progress to come

heres a pic of the truck when i picked it up

save the money you would dump into the Tow rig, put it into the 4runner listed in your sig, and tow the 4runner. :D

haha, its allready got a lot of goodies on it, i just cant wait to build up the tundra

You may want to reconsider the 6" lift. From what I've heard drop bracket lifts aren't very good off road, and they are pretty much permanent. Also, I would skip the nerf steps and get sliders. Much more protection that way.

Otherwise looks good.

Lookin forward to the pics, how much does that thing weigh stock?

honestly, no idea, yeh im reconsidering the 6" lift, but i cant figure out something that will get me the lift that i want but also a lot of travel, i was thinking a long travel kit, but then the truck wont sit higher, also thinking of a full icon vehicle dynamics stage 5 coilover lift.

have you thought about glass fenders and bedsides? Do coilovers or a long travel, fit 35s easy and keep your COG low. Tall trucks are stupit, imo.

Agreed. You get clearance from tires and minor suspension lift (if any)

Agreed- but that into the runner lol, tundra while it will look sick- gonna be crazy top heavy with that much lift.- hows your experience been with iron pig? Ive heard some good things- but also some horror stories..

i havent had any experience with iron pig, but a friend of mine has had two trucks with a lot of work from them one is an fj55 and the other is an fj80 and their work looks awesome,

ive reconsidered the big lift and now im thinking of going with a long travel kit from total chaos and running icon coilovers and bypass shocks, ill be able to get anywhere from 3 to 5" of lift out of the kit and it will also allow me to have almost 18" if wheel travel.

im just trying to put together a parts list so i can start ordering/hoarding parts until it comes time to install.

i agree with most of you guys that while the 6 inch drop bracket lifts look great, the last thing i want to do to my truck is have to cut the front cross member just to lift it, atleast with the long travel if i ever need to put it back to stock, everything will come out and unbolt.

one of the guys over on tundratalk.net is building me a custom roof rack that is unbelievable.

will keep you updated

phill

yeh im just waiting for fiberwerx to make the rear fenders for the 5.5ft crewmax bed. when that happens i will definitely be ordered front and rear fenders from them for my crewmax

Thats a lot of mods, I have the same truck in slate. I'll be following this thread also

dont hold you breath as this is going to take a while to come to fruition, i have made my final decision on most of the stuff therefore its up in the air and money is tight as we all know, so as i get the funds, things will start to happen, i imagine the first things that will get installed will be the ARB compressor and front and rear ARB air lockers.

stay tuned

how's your build coming along?

how's your build coming along?

well good and bad haha, the good is im decided on a bunch of the things that im going to do like the lockers, bumpers, roof racks and that stuff. but i still cant seem to make up my mind with the type of lift i want to go with.

ive narrowed it down to two different things and both have their quirks.

first would be a 6" procomp lift, with icon vehicle dynamics coilovers and rear reservoir shocks

secondly would be a long travel set up from total chaos fab with an icon setup

the only issue is, the long travel doesnt give me the amount of lift i want where as the procomp doesnt give me nearly as much wheel travel as the long travel kit. also the long travel kit costs almost 6 times as much as the procomp lift in the and after adding up all the seperate parts

currently im waiting on the roof rack to be finished and im going to be having the front and rear air lockers and air compressor mounted and installed in the fall.

then its deciding if i want to run 37" BFgoodrich KM2's or toyo open country M/T's

its also a matter of saving up the money to buy all the stuff. i travel a lot in the summer therefore most of this will probably take place this coming winter while i have downtime

Waiting for your the tundra build. thinking of driving my 08 CM on a green or easy trails, but if something breaks I sure will regret it, and I will say I should have wheeled the 80 instead :(
