I lent my 80 to my folks who drove it to Los Cabos and back on a 3,000 mile, 28 day trip. They slept in the rig pretty much every night, thanks to my bed setup. No problem at all. They made it through Ensenada, Bahia de Los Angeles, San Francisquito, Loreto, La Paz and back through Guerrero Negro, where they saw dozens of whales! They're pretty much used to drive in hostile areas (they crossed the Sahara four times in a regular car) and they were nonetheless impressed by the lack of variety in the food there, out of the main towns: rice and beans in the morning, beans and rice for lunch, and for dinner... well, you get the idea. :D Bottom line if you go there: pack your own favorite food!
Otherwise, they always felt very safe and met tons of US and Canadian retirees, soaking the February sun like them. Pics follow. And yes I know, my damage multipliers suck.;p Who wants to trade for an ARB?

That's pretty cool, what a trip it must have been

In fact, I'm now dyig to go wheel there as well... But summer is a big no with a young kid.

I have never been there, why is Summer a no no with a kid?

Heat. Expect 110 - 120°F near the Sea of Cortez. My parents got low 90s last February in La Paz. The Pacific shore seems to be more bearable, though.

See what we said!!!

Mexico is not as bad as many folks here think it is. Here's hoping that you make it down there too one time.
