Agree w. DBS, must have been stored in a high-humidity environment. Hate to see what the inside of the gas tank looks like, make sure you do a complete change-out of the fuel in the system and replace your fuel filter.

Nice rig! You should keep it, why try and make a profit when you can enjoy it for many years. Oh yea, you better get a handle on that rust. Looks like your tailgate is rusted too. Have you checked the frame and undercarriage yet for rust?

Nice Cruiser but it's a damn shame that it is from the Northeast and has some rust. The interior is mint and it looks amazing overall but the rust would scare me away from spending big bucks on it.

haha, oops, i meant to bump the "for sale" thread...

Good luck on getting that price. Not sure why anyone would pay it when they could have a 97 FZJ for $10,000? There are suckers out there. Why was it sold for $7000? Blue book is $3500 so you already paid twice what it was worth. Good luck..

you must not spend much time in the 60 section.

And since when does anyone ever look at the blue book on any car over 5-7 yrs old?

the prices never make sense.

I don't think blue book is the true price either, it already sold for double the blue book price so there ya go. It is worth what ever somebody will pay for it. It is a nice cruiser, no doubt. Just not worth the original purchasing price 18 years later, at least to me. I guess I am spoilled by the rust free cruisers that are all around here, none with that low of mileage though. For half the price an FZJ is a steal if you compare the two cars and the money spent, but I guess that would be too practical for some.

Draw your own conclusions:

I thought it sold for quite a bit on Ebay. That is bizzare. Heck, if that is real, 6200 looks pretty cheap. Though you never know with Craigslist or ebay.

What did you want a landcruiser for to begin with? If you just wanted something to drive around town on the weekends then I would keep it.

I bought my cruiser because I wanted something rugged and reliable...what it was designed to be. Living in South America and taking these things (along with Patrols and Land Rovers) to places most only see pictures of inspired both my purchase of a cruiser and my craving for adventure.

Personally I wouldn't want the burden of having to keep that thing spotless. If it were me, I would sell it, buy a clean one half the price and use the rest on modifications: lift, tires and functional accessories.
