Looking at what TLC asks for their cruisers will mess with your mind. Our Cruisers are worth whatever somebody is willing to pay. Can you sell if for $20k??? There's a sucker born every minute, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Your best bet would be to stick it on ebay with a high reserve and see where the bidding stops. It is kind of hard to say definitively where it will trade.

and if you do sell it, sell it to somebody in the South or South West US.... I'd hate to see such a low mileage cruiser catch a case of the New England Cruiser Rot.

not that im planning on selling it, but just curious.

I would not be surprised if you got 20k for it. As far as suckers goes, I wouldn't feel I was a sucker if I paid 20k for the coolest vehicle on the planet with low miles. What can you get for 20k these days anyway. A Jeep? Point made.

I agree with you about not being able to get much for $20k these days and the 60 series Cruisers are one of my all time favorite vehicles. However, regardless of miles it is still a 17 year old vehicle that will probably have 17 year old vehicle issues. If it is worth $20k to you, then so be it. I'm just saying that I'd have a hard time coming off that kind of coin for it. If the right collector finds it and scoops it up to put on display, that is one thing.... but, I imagine that issues will crop up if it is going to be a daily driver. With 30k miles, it has done a lot of sitting. If I were in that situation and could get $20+k for it, it'd be gone in a heartbeat.... especially in the Rust Belt. I can find a nice 62 AND a nice fully locked 80 for that price. It goes back to what I originally said, our Cruisers are worth whatever somebody will pay for it. To each his own, we all have different value systems.

I would just chill out and enjoy it. No, it's probably not worth $ 20K, especially with even a tiny bit of rust. If you really want to know, put it on Ebay with a high reserve and let it roll. My guess is a lot less than that unless it had a perfect body. I think maintenance and lack of rust sell more than mileage with these things. POST PICS! I am still jealous.

ya, im working on the pics. i still havent picked it up yet.

Sure you can sell it at a profit - that would be easy considering you got such a great deal. One problem though, what would you replace it with? You've got yourself a gem and probably will never get another chance to get something like that again.

Enjoy it and hold on to it

I don't want to offend you, but YOU SUCK! $7K for a 62 with 30K miles on it! I paid $8500 for an '88 FJ62 with 123,000 miles on it three years ago. I thought that was a good deal.
Proof that Heaven does exist for some of us.
Seriously though...a big CONGRATS!!! You're gonna love your new truck. In the event you find that it doesn't suit you, I'd be glad to take it off your hands for $7500 (see, you've made $$$ on the truck already).

I concur you do suck:D I've got my 62 for $2200 @ 234K and I'm shooting for another 100k! You will love this truck, my GF is totally jealous of the time I spend with mine...

That is incredibly low miles! My truck was purchased by my buddy with about 102K miles on it for $3200. Faded paint, needed new throw out bearing, leaking rear engine seal, torn front seats, old school Centerline rims (solid alum)/31's.

Now has 133K miles (3 years later) and needed a lot of body work to fix rust (that happened being near the ocean) and respray to like new condition, plus added OME 2.5" lift kit, 33x12.5's/15x8 steelies.

One thing I will say... is fix the rust early and do it right. That would be my first move.

stop posting and get us pics!
also, there are a few of us in boston that take em out and wheel em. check out the local TLC chapter Yankee Toys. The link is in my info below.
congrats on a good find...

I don't thinks its worth 30k No, but 20k maybe. It would have to be cleaned to perfection and the rust bubble would have to be fixed. The underside would have to be spotless with no leaks and no surface rust. My 1990 was that way and brought 15k with 60k on the ODO. It was spotless, I mean as perfect as I have ever seen. I believe a 90 model FJ62 would theoretically bring more $ because of the comforts, but the 87s bring plenty also. Here is a shot of my 90.
