My new parts rig

Hey dudes,

I picked up another HJ47 troopy a while ago. Only just now got around to posting. She's a 1981 - I can't remember what the VIN is but its very close to that of Old Yella's. Slightly older I think.
Anyway, the PO had purchased an FJ45 in the past for parts - he put disc brakes up front, replaced all the tie rods and had fixed up a lot of rust - there are some really good panels on this bad boy. The engine is top notch too!

Absolutely FULL of parts in the back - full power steering setup from an FJ45, two spare fenders, spare side and corner windows, two bullbars with spotlights, two doors, an H41 transmission, and other stuff I still have yet to discover - I haven't pulled everything out yet. There's still two axles (front and back) at the guy's house that I will pick up when I get the chance (only problem being that he lives in Bunbury - a couple of hundred km from where I live).

So the plan is to pull the disc brake setup and some panels for install on my other troopy, Old Yella. I'll also be using a lot of other spares for transplant - but that's yet to be refined. I will be selling parts so if you're interested in anything, let me know.

Depending on how I go, I might end up with two troopys .........

I just gotta ask. Would/could you ship the frame in a container to Europe? I'm really in need of one and it seems i can't find one here for a fair price. It's like there made out of gold. Depends on shipping of course.

I can have a look into it for you man ... I wouldn't get my hopes up too early if I were you though. I tend to work very slowly and it may be quite some time before I pull off everything back to the frame.

I'll do a little freight investigation for you though.

I probably don't have the time to swap frames until winter 2011, so time is no problem for me. If you could find out what shipping will be would be great!

Great score on the power steering!! Do you have the steering column as well? Remember that the steering column from the factory power steering rig is about 3/4" shorter than the non power steering rig. It is easy enough to shorten your column, but better if you have the original to go with it.

Let me know if you need the frame sooner or if Matt decides to keep his, as the wreckers/junk yard near me has three troopy frames which I am sure they would ship. I would be happy to stop by and pick the best of the lot.

Yeah there is a steering column from an FJ45 in the back, so I should be good to go. Just need to sort out mounting a pump.

It's amazing just how much one can fit in the back of a troopy



A lot of this will be for sale - I'll post details of particular items soon.

I suppose it was always inevitable, but I have grown really fond of this troopy - I'm not sure I'll be able to go through with stripping it down. So I suppose my aim now is to take what I want, but leave enough for a second rig .... More work to swap out parts, but less weight on my conscience!

I support your train of thought. After all, they ain't making them any more

I'm no purist but every one that gets wrecked in whatever fashion means one less in existence. Though often the scattering of parts can resurrect several other rigs.
