Just picked up this monster, 2008 LX570 with 42,XXX miles. Owned an LX450 for almost four years so still getting used to it but except for the button gizmo overload I like it (seriously do I need my truck to "squat" when i turn it off...I am a man afterall.....Well I do like the illuminated running boards though welcoming me when I get close)

Purchased it sight unseen, was a little nervous but she is amazingly clean! Only things I can think of it needing is:

Shaky mirror - Fixed. Found some TSBs on here and removed the three bolts and red lock tighted them. Didn't go with the new bolts, figure it should work fine.

Drive shaft - Jacked the beast up to undercoat using fluid film and noticed the center shaft was drier then I expected, very very light corrosion. Anybody got any info on intervals and grease to use on the Zerks? I know the 80 series people warned against greasing some of them.

Got it for $41, 300 from a dealer, How'd I do?

She's a beaut!

7 years old with only 42,000 miles? You did very well - looks great, congratulations!

Why would it be leaking anywhere? Don't understand the question, did I miss something?
car is 2008 with 42,000 mi that about 6,000 mi per year average 10K-12K is normal run: a year - so if the car sits in the garage the oil is not lubrication some vital seals / parts which will gets brittal and starts cracking. I have LC 2009 with 50,000 mi it is sitting in the garage most of the time , but I make sure every 2 weeks I take it for a spin - just to lubricate, that is the reason why I am asking if you do not see any oil sipping anywhere - no offence just curious. O love this rig - planing to sell my LC to get LX

Got it.

No leaks anywhere. My 97 LX450 only has 124,000, my 89 Toyota Supra only had 97,000 miles, and my 98 4runner had 140,000 and every single one of them had zero leaks, low mileage was of zero concern to me.

I do not belie you - post some pictures underbelly of your LX450, this rig is naturally over the time will leak in some obvious places.
My 1996 LX450 I got when it had 130,000 mil and it was sipping oil from: front and main crankshaft seals, crankshaft positioning sensor seal, water temperature sensor seal, oil pump cover seal, steering pump high pressure hose and steering pump back cover in addition all heater hoses were bulging so I had to replace all most all robber hoses.

Make it a habit of lubing the drive shaft when you get your oil changed. 10,000 if you run synthetic. A couple squirts of a good Moly grease.

The front zerks are a bit of a pia to get to laying on your back so dealer or mechanic can manipulate the drivetrain while its in the air for the oil. 6 zerks all together

Thanks for the heads up on the zerks. Once it warms up I will give her some grease, doubt anybody has done them.

Really not sure this is the correct forum but.....this is the only picture I have and not the best. Truck has been parked in the same spot for almost four years. Skid plate has been removed and complety dry. Never a leak of any kind in the engine bay or below, oil on axle is from removing oil filter above, but I really don't want to pollute the 200 series thread with 80 talk.
