Another small mod, but one that is important to keep the clean side of me sane:

I also installed some LED's in the dome lights, man what a difference that makes.

Running boards will be coming off, just need to figure out what to do with front mud flaps. OME 2.5" may be in the future, will see how I like it stock on 33's for a while and then go from there.

Just a thought on the running boards...you may want to leave them on for the sheer functionality of being able to get into and out of the vehicle, especially with the larger tires, possible lift, and with the :princess: and kid loading and unloading the 80. It gets tall real quick for people that aren't prepared for the height.

Most are not fans of the stock running boards because they provide no protection off road at all, but the functionality of being able to easily step in and out of the truck sure is nice until some sliders can get installed.

Enjoy and welcome to the addiction!

I definetely agree with this. I left mine on until I got a set of Bump It Offroad step sliders. I use them myself for getting in and out of the Lexus and I'm 6'2". They fit real nice. Almost looks stock.

what brand floor mats are those? They look great!

They are Husky Liners. Quality product and fit very well. I got a set from the wifey for xmas. I had removed the dead pedal, so I had to cut that part of the liner out which sucks.

OP nice black lx/cruiser. I was looking for a black one in CO last year and they are tough to come by.

Very valid points on the running borads. The :princess: already commented on the entry height, to be fair I don't blame her since she is 5'4". I'm 6'3" so I tend to overlook things like that. I'll have to give it some thought, I'm used to sliders for 4Runners being about $250, so the $1k for some cruiser sliders definitely pushes that timeline out a little. Guess I can always pull one off and just see what it's like.

Got a little bit done of the LX this weekend. I couldn't take the look of the running boards any more so they came off and I picked up some oem mudflaps from CDan. I'll run it like this for a while and see how it works. I figure if the wife hates it then that's extra leverage when I tell her how much sliders cost! ;)

I also got a chance to test fit my new front bumper I picked up from a fellow member. Had quite a bit of surface rust on it when I got it so I cleaned it up and shot is with some Rustoleum rust reformer. It's basically just tacked together so I still need to finish all of the welding and I want to add a little more structure to it (as well as add a few cosmetic pieces just to clean it up), but overall I really like the look and function of it, and I can't complain for the price and a little elbow grease.

Great looking truck!!! I really wish they offered the white LX's with the charcoal two-tone, rather than the beige. I've contemplated repainting my cladding a charcoal color but I think I might just go the grey bedliner route eventually....

The color matched Lexus front mudflaps are spendy. I think they're about $85 each. When I took my running boards off I just trimmed the black molding that goes over the front of the running board. It isn't as good as the color matched mud flap, but it looks a lot better than leaving the bottom of the flare uncovered. I also trimmed the overly long rear mud flap to make it look less "Grandpa-ish"....

You can kinda see them in this crappy pic:

Can you give me a close of shot of your rear mud flap trimmed?

Here are a couple shots of the rear flaps...and one of the front "flap" for good measure...

Pardon the dirt...and gold overspray from one of the PO's...

Love the new tires and no running boards! Very nice.

Thanks for the pictures 2 E L O! I like what you did on the front, it looks good.

I don't know if you can really call it a "mod", but my latest order from CDan showed up today. I've read a lot of complaints on the OEM cup holder, but honestly it looks great for cans of soda, small water bottles and certain travel mugs, so I thought I would give it a try:

I did the same regardless of the negative comments. Works great for me. No complaints.

I think most of the upholder comments stem from the fact that people are trying to put their 55 gallon drums of soda (big gulp cups) in them and they break, or tip over. A realistic cup makes those upholders just fine.
