Well I bought another 60.. Its a 1983 FJ60. Bought it with a bad engine, no brakes, rust, and in need of work. It was all there so I bought it and got right to it. Bought a used tested motor from a member on this site. Great seller btw. I tore the motor down and replaced all I could for seal and gaskets, etc. Got the carb rebuilt. Put on a header. Painted everything i could. Full desmog. Replaced all brakes components and all brake lines. The frame... I took off a few pounds in rust but all and all it was very solid. Undercoated everything with SEM rust shield. I spent a full week...full time on the body. I fixed all the rust which was mostly on the roof and some lower spots. Nothing too major. Gave the cruiser a base/clear paint job. Came out good for another garage job. The wet sand really makes the paint job in this case. Fired up first shot and is running strong. Just need to fab up a final exhaust, fix drivers seat fabric, and do a lift with all new suspension components. For now I am going to enjoy it.. and put the 200+ hrs in last couple months on spare time. My girl is happy I'm done also..lol...for now anyway. Here are some pics from the job. Pics are not 100% but the first day I pushed it out. It is 98% today...lol.. gas lid is on at least...

Good work! Glad to see the fruits of your labor.

Love to see em brought back to life, not sent off to the junkyard!

Thanks for the compliments. My previous 60 had SOA and I would like to save the ride a bit and go for a smaller look. Any suggestions on springs. I dont really want to pay the 1500 for the OME kit. I would like to use maybe 33 x10.5 tires or so. I want the skinny tall look.

Very nice 60. I like the red with black wheels. You must be a University of Georgia fan. <grin>

Anyone have any suggestions on a budget friendly spring lift. looking for about 2-3 inch. Can be custom. I enjoy the welding projects.

Awsome job!!! Love seeing these old classics brought back to life.

Looks great! if you dont mind me asking, what spray gun did you use for paint? i would like to do a paint job myself, but i dont know if my $80 sprayer from harbor freight would be a good choice.

I used a divilbus ...not the correct spelling. But cheap guns are more prone to Orange peel. I use the cheap ones for the frame.
