Hi gang,

I took the plunge. 4 spd auto, PTO winch, 113K kms, no rust.

Thanks for all your advice. :)

Stone, I'll be in touch with you soon for 12V converter install. I've got Ron Millson to check the injectors next week. A bit rough idling.

I'll try to post some pics soon. Existing pics file sizes too big.

Awesome, Bruce!

I was going to call you sometime today to see if it went through or not. Happy with the purchase?

If you need me to host a couple of pics for you, let me know. Looking forward to seeing your new ride.

Congrates! I want to see it too! In fact, I want to drive an auto 13BT combo!

Please :D

I checked my fuel consumption after 100km. Not good. About 19 mpg imp. I did have the hubs locked though. Anyone know what sort of penalty is paid w. hubs locked?

Injectors? And related to the rough idle?

congrates and welcome to the club.
cheers

Hi Gang,

Here are a few pics. But the resize kind of kills the reason for sending. )

Note the wheels on the vehicle. I have seen the same alloys on quite a few BJ74s fro Jap. But mine only came with 4.

I'd like to either find a 5th matching for a spare or install the stock painted steel rims that alos came with the purchase.

Anyone know where another allow like the one in the picture could be located? I hope you can make out the picture.

Thanks,

Bruce

when resizing the pics try and lower the pixels and leave the size the same. it will put it in at lower KB's. might take a couple trys to get a file small enough.

nice looking truck. who is Rob Millson and what company is it? I might send mine down to him if his turn around is quick.

Greg or Sheldon once spoke with a injector guy who claims the direct injectors rarely ever go out of spec??

Second hand info.

I've attached an install of a 13BT/H55F into a USA FJ60 he is just completing final details on. After it's finished it will be for sale.

Sorry Bruce...

Partially Rob. What I have been told by a few injector fella's is the tips do not need to be replaced as often as the IDI tips, as they do not take the same beating (not as much surface area exposed...you have seen IDI nozzles and the cupping that happens). They do need to be inspected, replaced if neccesary, cleaned if okay, and re-shimmed to stock crack open pressures.

I sent Rob a email. I have no idea when the last time my injectors were serviced. PO has no reciept of it. And I think I have most of the reciepts for the truck since new. the truck now has 239 k

so I figure it is time, thanks Greg for the email address.

sorry hijack.

I had a look at Rob's shop today and saw the 60. I think its for sale now (mot sure though). He is also looking to selling his totally redone 42. Wow.

He will be checking the injectors and valve clearances on my 74. The air cleaner isn't perfect, but it looks fine.

I've just met him once, but I can tell you Rob seems like a very fine person and really wrapped up in Land Cruisers as a labour of love. Not a quick buck. He is very involed with TLCA and even holds meetings at his shop. I'm sure most of you in SW BC know that already.

Looks good, Bruce!

Any excessive black smoke coming out the tailpipe? What's the power like?

Are those 15" alloys that you have on right now? I had the same ones and I really liked the looks of them, but they were too narrow. I saw a catalogue from Japan that G&S had and those alloys list for some crazy amount of money...so I didn't bother getting a matching spare. I was able to find a similar rim but a little bit wider with a slightly different offset from G&S a little later. I've since sold them and am currently running 255/85r/16 on factory steel 16x6 wheels.

Yes, Rob M. is a great guy.
