My new auxiliary engine dry temperature temp meter alarm

I just installed auxiliary engine temperature dry meter alarm (Australian 2 sensor unite plus buzzer)

The rational is to get an indication of fast losing all coolant at once in short time before any damage :deadhorse:

The installation of the dashboard and on the engine is temporary locations

On the engine is now on the thermostat housing I get in the hot day of 93F I measure 168F on highway and 185F in slow traffic or up a mountain with AC

I will move it down the block later - suggestions of a a bolt in optimal place are welcomed

On dashboard I do not want to drill and I will leave it there, although it is ugly with the 2 zip tie :bang:

To have the most consistent, realistic, reading, the sensor needs to be in the coolant, on the driver side of the head, towards the front, like where the factory sensor is.

I don't agree at all
I have (1994 OBD1) Bluetooth dongle i will get the accurate digital reading on my android console

The wet sensor won't give you any warning in the event of catastrophically fast losing of the coolant i

A dry sensor on engine will and this is from real life experience
 
I see, why are you planning to lose all of your coolant? Every catastrophic leak that I have seen, didn't need a gauge, the steam cloud was enough of an indicator, much more obvious than a gauge.

Steam cloud in the desert? :) Zero humidity? 130F in the shade? lets say its a standard on the rigs here army and civilian
 
I like it. It's extremely simple and should be close enough. The slightly inaccurate temperature readout is better than the perfectly accurate one that you never get around to installing! :)
 
I've always had mine bolted to the head to read the metal temps.
 
I dont know what is normal temp gauge if by normal you refare to the one that come with the rig? thats a dead meater

this one can have 2 temp sensors with programmable audio alarm
By normal I mean an actual temp gauge in the coolant passage. The alarm part would definitely be nice
