My HJ45-PU

[HJ45-PU]

This is my HJ45-PU 1975 which i bought in Denmark last summer. The truck was used as rescue truck....
The build of this truck is homemade. I sold the equipment that was on the back of the truck, and bought a bed in Sweden, but that bed is for a newer LC.
Thomas Kessner in Germany has made a truck in a way i would like to make mine.
When it come to tires i like to have 255/85-16 which is about 33.06" heigh and 10.03" wide.
I have also a "sidepipe" i would like to place at the left side of the cabin, but i was thinking of making a valve so i can switch between exhaust under and up along the side.
But i have a long way to go....

The price for this truck was ok i think. It has run 200 000Km since 1975, and i payed 2900.- US dollars...

That is the first 45 I have seen set up as a wrecker or tow rig for disabled vehicles.

It looks like it is a LHD.

Toyota Norway have not imported the FJ and HJ45`s, so those who are in our country are imported private.
Here are som more pics.

1)Here u can see a old mobile tlf, i cant use it, so i will remove that
2)The seat have adjustable spring, from an old Volvo lorry, those with the nosebonnet in the front.
3)This is the sidepipe i like to have on my truck. Because it was an equipment back, they couldnt send the exhaust back, so they had to fasten the pipe at the side of the truck. Some told me that this will be very noisy, so i will get a valve beneath the bed that i can switch to exhaust back when im driving long distance, and up when i like to "show off"

nice score and great pic of ur landcruiser prado looks so much better than the lexus version we have here in the US. also awesome 45

Thanks for posting the pics. I have been wanting to know what a 75 series tray would look like on a 45, as I plan to do the same thing as the 45 bodies are very hard to find here in oz, but the 75's are more common. Do you know if the mounts etc line up or is it a bit of work to make it fit?

Nice cruiser by the way, I would've kept breaking down on purpose just to get old mate to come pick me up in his cruiser

The bed is extremely cool in my opinion. And a PTO winch! lucky!

It looks like it drives at least a little bit then, or did you have to winch it up onto the trailer?

There are many of this tow trucks i Denmark. But they are now replaceed with newer trucks.

No the truck runs very good, but i got some trouble with the gearshift now after i tried the vinch. I put the trans in 2H og 4H but nothing happens, so now it runs only in 4L. But i will think it is easy to fix. And soon i will restore the truck, and then i wil find out. But first i have to sell my offorad truck..

This is a little off topic here, but i like u to see my offroad truck also.

This is my offroad truck, that i have for sale at the moment.
It has sandblasted frame, new ProComp chock absorbers, new brake pipeline from the front to the tail, new drums, pumps and brakeshoes, TrXus 35x12.5x15 at Rock Crawler wheels, racing braketubes, rustfree 2.75" industrial pipe as exhaust, 1.5" shackle lift, 3" body lift by ProComp, the front axel is restored, new handbrake vire, renewed the 2 cross in the front axel in to the transbox.
The body is rusty, but all other is in the best condition.

I dont know how to fit the bed on my truck, and i have to make the frame at the back a little longer aslo, because the frame was cuted off behind the backsprings, that because the heavy equipment that was there before.

no worries. Yours is how I plan to make mine. I want to shorten the overhang and cut the frame, then shorten and dovetail the body.

Good luck with your build, by the look of your other truck you know what you're doing.

Dag (or anyone else for that matter):

Are the coil springs from the factory? Mine has a similar looking puck on the axle and frame, but some sort of rubber stacked in there. I was just assuming that it was some Honduran inventiveness, but could it be something that's factory or a common aftermarket modification?
