Hey bro, that little thingy in front of the carb with the broken off nipple is giving you a pretty good vacuum leak if you are running it like that. Pull it out and plug it perhaps.

Glad to hear you are enjoying "being naked".;)

that pressure reg may give you problems.
had one on my 40 that did'nt flow enough volumn. neither the 40 or my 60, both with weber 38s need a reg on them.
give any thought to getting the adpter to run an oem air clean assembly?
those little filters are pretty weeny, ye'ol 2F sucks alot of air.

did you check the length on the second set of adpter plate bolts? they're known to be a hair too long.

Hey, I'm going to echo what's already been said, the air cleaner on those is not big enough for your motor, this I know from experience. There is an adapter available, from K&N I believe, that allows a universal round AC to be installed. I used a 10", it cleared everything, and a K&N element in that. Ran stronger, (not just a little) with better milage. Do it. Also, a fluid heat riser may come in handy if you live in a cold climate, I had to do that, they work very well. I absolutely adore Webers, they are a set it and forget it affair; very unlike some other brands of mixers I've had the displeasure of dealing with.

headers

so far, yep I do like those headers

I'll look into the adapter as soon as I can accumulate some precious $

Where's the old carb? I'll give you $20 bux for it :D:D

I installed the JT Outfitters header waaay back in 2004. Couldn't beat the price. I used a factory gasket, had a machine shop mill the header to the same thickness as the factory intake manifold, and re-torqued the manifold to head bolts a few times to spec, in proper order, over a few thousand miles.

It's now 2008, and no leakage!

The machine shop guy said the flange plate on the JTO header was fairly warped, but that bolting it to the head should straighten it out. He was right.

I also had the machine shop weld a plug into the intake manifold EGR thang so that I could retain the PCV system, per the great Jim C. method.

Jim C. also rebuilt my carb, and the desmog was complete!
