Well I still don't have internet access at home yet, just at work. So with the help of a friend here's a couple of pictures of my truck. It's a 94 V6 that I got this spring. I've been catching up on PM stuff mostly. It just got the Total Chaos idler arm yesterday, next week I should have new tires.

Here you go.

Replacement tie rod ends will have to wait a few more weeks, same with the lame shocks. It's daily driven so I don't get too out of hand with it in the woods.

I always thought those hella's were offensive and a bit large:ban:

Bump (literally). I got rear ended by an Xterra on Monday in the woods, the driver and passangers think they were doing 30mph. Everyone is okay but my bed was scratched a bit. We were around Ashurst Lake when I realized I missed my turn. I slowed down, turned off the road and found a level spot (no parking brake) so I could lock the hubs. I unbuckled my belt and as I turned to open the door I saw my buddies flying at me. I did not have the brakes on so the truck rolled with the hit. I should have pictures up tonight, gotta get to work now.

At least nobody got hurt. I'm just going to buff out the scratches. Nothing significant happened to the frame damage wise.

I was just going to mention that. People think those things protect their vehicle but it just goes into the grill and headlight area.

Yeah, I have a hard time explaining that to my friends. Different school of thought I guess. :D I cut the radiator hose down before I took the picture, it was completely collapsed from the impact.

Been busy, lots of stuff to prepare for with long arm plans. I'll play with a straight axle someday again, like a 40 or something. This thing still sees 97% crappy roads and the rest is crawling. Besides that excuse I always wanted something like this for fun :D.

The cage is an All Pro Flatbed kit, keeping the fenders was the plan. I'm going to use the rest of the metal for miscellaneous stuff (ammo can mounts, ext).

The rear has Bilstein 7100's as of two weeks ago. I've sized where the limiting strap should be but still need to weld them in (no garage, limited resources). Testing the travel the shackles will buckle in before the shock is over extended (brake line, LSPV, parking brake all clear). The brake line appears to be after market, probably went in with the other Rancho stuff a long time ago. It's getting replaced with a fresh hose when the arms go in. I'm looking into Landcruiser anti-inversion shackles for the rear, that is if I find the right fit.

Still need bump stops, it's getting cheap urethane ones for now (not going nuts out there yet). Truck guys here tell me they shatter urethane in a couple of hard hits. Air bumps last longer in a beating and help soften the hits :D.

The Total Chaos kit is in the mail, here's what I have now. The fronts are Bilstein 9100's. They are 3 inches longer than the SAW's but I'm sold on these things so I'll go through a little more trouble to cram them in there. Modifying a TC shock hoop kit would work but a patched hoop won't look as clean as a solid hoop sized right.

Damn, sick truck man. My girlfriend has a 92 3.0 that I desperately want to turn into a "light" baja machine :grinpimp:

I like how you did the AP flatbed kit but retained the bedsides and the MC rear bumper. Not to mention the sand ladder rear tailgate :D

Very creative work. I like how this thing is turning out.

Thanks dude, I actually wanted to keep the bed at first. I got the ORS rear shock mount to stuff Bilsteins there but had mixed feelings after all the damage. Just easier to move junk and bikes around. I can still move my bike, I just ditch one spare (2 spares=paranoid, yes :D).

I almost had to use the sandladders once this winter, otherwise they are mostly a bench. If a couple other trucks I wheel with had ladders we could flatten and dig our way through some crappy drifts.

Camping was a little easier with the bed, a little tougher for critters to get in. I can sleep in the cab if necessary but that bites, my tent is nice enough.

Actually I was just being an ass to piss my friends here off. It's the freakin states, Flagstaff, about 20 miles south.

Easier to get to, and fewer technicals to avoid .

Need a heater mounted in the bed for the motherland :D.
