I have been at this a couple of weeks now but at last got it all down to the chassis...

Just got to make up a new 2nd in rear crossmember then it's off for a blast and hot galv..

Then I have to look over the axles.... oil was poring out of the rear one when it came off so a new seal is needed and a lick of paint...

The new tub has been on the drive for a few months so it's about time I get on with it...

Just got an email from Euro4x4... my parts are on the way for the axel seals and loads of other bits and bobs... clutch cylinder rebuild kits, bumpers, engine mount and the new body mount kit..etc....... no reason not to crack on now....

FST in the UK - pack a jumper! Nice rig man, go the middies.

OK... the chassis is back together... ready to go for blasting and hot dip galvanizing... Hand to re attach the rear part of the front suspension hangers as these were loose... and the 2nd in rear cross member has been remade and fitted.... used bolts rather than rivets, the dome Allan key heads are close to the shape of the rivets and will look fine…mind you getting some of the old rivets out was a mission….

Front on.... rear needs some more work and an M12x1.25 die to clean-up the galv on the damper thread...

At last the new stainless tub comes out of the shipping crate.... and into place....

Now I have to get the holes made to fix it to the chassis...... also some packers to even it out... a small lift while I am at it is in order....

man those rear leaves are huge. what brand are they? nice going by the way, great to see this one done.

That's got to be a pretty rare beast over there. I think the Irish Army got a handful but they wouldn't last in the wet so they went back to Land Rovers. Other than that I saw a HJ47 with a 500 cube Caddy V8 in London. Love the workshop!

sweet project! Is it a Teseven tub? Envy you access to a stainless steel tub!

Hi, Thanks...
The tub is from Teseven... Teseven Autobody | Facebook

The springs are Terrain Tamers... I think these are bigger for the 46 as its a little longer than a 40 or 42...

Still got lots to do.... minor holdup while I get over the flu....

Not posted since Dec but had a house move and been working on the old girl...
Front and Rear hubs rebuilt, new bearings and seals all round,
Front caliper rebuild - seals and new pistons.
Brake lines gone back in..
Steering all rebult

But have some questions......

IMG_4132.jpg

I have located the following armour or splash guards, fuel tank, gear box, front splash guard on chassis, front right side splash guard on chassis, exaust side guard on chassis, exhaust manifold/down pipe guard on tub .... but not sure about these two??

Where do the following two parts go?? Can't find them in the take apart pictures (I did get a box of bits with the car) and can't see them in an diagrams.....

Also ...

Has the rear handbrake cable mount got bent at some point... should it be horizontal as the cable is not straight and might rub on the shocks...

I have the mount on the underside to try and compensate.. So the question is does the bracket need to be bent straight and the cable support mounting on the top not the bottom... could somone check one for me??? Not many of these in the UK and I have sold my other project car so can not look at that one.....

Any ideas on the other flat one....two pictures up...

Thanks... just what I needed to know.... ;-)
