LTD FJ, great info in this thread. Thank you!

Did you just drop off to ACC Garage? How long of a wait time on all of the items they recommended?

Thanks,

WJR

Please tell me you didn't trash that Warn winch? I'd love to buy it, and rebuild it if you still have it!
Cruiser looks great! Them new leathers really dressed it up. If you ever deliver any big boats up towards Wilmington give me a shout.
Winch went to a good home. lol. Mostly do Carribean, Bahamas and the NorthEast, but will keep you in mind...

I told them to take their time. My cruising season is now, so really cant do much. I shipped it up to them. They are real nice and have worked with me throughout this process.

Wow, that is pretty awesome of them. Will you report back on how long they have it just for posterity sake? I am in Alabama so heading over to Atlanta would not be too bad for me.

Our company has a backhaul program, so it was shipped to a Toyota dealership in December, even though my actual appointment time wasn't till January. It was only two days after the appointment time, that I got this list. I also added the lift and am probably going to talk to them about adding a few other items (Dual battery and exhaust work). Like I said, when I shipped it up, I gave them NO deadline. as I am working a lot in the carribean and other areas. I do travel home this Friday, but it is only till Tuesday and then right back out. Jennifer is the one to talk to over there.

Well, when ACC took down the oil pan, There were metal chunks in it. They also cut open the filter and metal shavings too. Unreal, because it still ran fine and other then drinking oil, seemed good. This rig is going to be brand new again once I am done. With ALL Geniune Toyota OEM parts. @Capt. Jim new Inline 6 on order.

Nice job on the rebuild Todd. Your pics bring back many great memories for me. You girl is getting big.

Let me know what they determine the shrapnel in the pan/filter are from. Amazing it still ran with that much trash in it.

BTW, both of my daughters learned to drive in that car. My daughter Captain Danielle is arriving in Puerta Plata DR sometime today in her boat, Ocean Club. Left St. Thomas on tuesday enroute to FLL. She said she bumped into Folden and a bunch of you guys in customs down there a few weeks back. I am in Great Exuma but will be in Green Turtle/Marsh Harbor next week.

Keep up the good work on my old truck.

Thanks. I must have been home when Folden saw her, but I am back down here now. I am pretty sure my daughter will learn to drive on this truck to. Dumping alot of money in it now and will have it setup for many years to come. Since I am putting a new block and bottom end in it, I decided to get the supercharger too. We will have to meet up some night when I get her back. Maybe all us S. Fl cruiserheads can get together Talk to you later...

Soooooo... Since I am working out of the country, I ask the wife to go and take some photos of my new short block before it gets shipped up to ACC. Here is what I get...... ugh lol.

Supercharger! Yeah...

Hello all. Been on Mud here for awhile. Mostly getting ideas and not really contributing much. I bought Capt. Jim's 80 about a year ago and am getting ready to START building. A little about me. Work on yachts and am currently doing a delivery from Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic to Fort Lauderdale. Right now a little south of Rum Cay doing 12.5 slow knots. I get 8 days off a month, but they vary. I am married with a 19 month old daughter who ALWAYS wants to be outside, which I love. Hence me wanting to do an expedition style rig. Anyways, here is a want list for me and I will try and update as I go thru the list. Again, a BIG thanks to.all who contribute to these threads!
we did you score the armrest cover for the console, I need that

an fzj and a TRD sc make it drive like a v8 JMO I love mine

Not sure I would go that far. The V8 conversion is a whole different game changer.

I would say by far the quickest way to add a bunch of power to the 1fz and keeping it OEM, serviceable at any Toyota dealership.

JMO.

OP, thanks for posting. I look forward to watching what may be one of the epic engine builds.
