I hope it's OK to cross post from Bring a Trailer, mods please slap me if not. I've gotten seriously back into motorcycling, and am selling Tractor. Hard choice, but I can't justify leaving him parked in the driveway.
1984 FJ60
Below is a short accounting of what the truck is about...
1984 Toyota FJ60 Landcruiser
- Sold new at Roseburg Toyota in Roseburg, OR. Always in PNW
- Original paint, minimal surface rust, a few dings and other character marks
- Frame has surface rust only
- 2F engine, with all “smog” equipment properly and completely removed
- Fresh head rebuild with new springs and guides, 3 angle cut and surface skim
- Chambers polished, valves “unshrouded,” ports cleaned, smoothed, gasket matched on intake
- Staked aluminum oil plug replaced with threaded plug
- New head bolts
- Engine stripped to bare long block, cleaned externally and internally, new paint on engine and all components
- All gaskets on engine replaced including front and rear crank seals, oil pan, side cover, oil cooler o-rings, every single gasket!
- Custom exhaust heat shield on oil pan
- Speedi-sleeve on front pulley to repair wear to seal surface
- Brand new Weber 32/26 carburetor with Redline plenum and Range Rover Classic air cleaner
- Header with heat wrap, new exhaust with proper flex pipe
- New aluminum radiator (bolt in OEM format, no hacking)
- All new coolant/heater hoses
- All new coolant pipes
- New heater valve
- New PCV and hose
- New belts
- GM 105a alternator mounted to Toyota bracket
- Saginaw PS pump with custom brackets, new OEM Toyota high pressure hose with GM fitting on pump end
- Both PS pump and alternator were mounted so that OEM brackets remain intact, so OEM parts can be installed if desired
- Rebuilt steering box (West Texas Offroad)
- All new tie rod ends
- 1985 axles with OME medium springs and year-old Bilstein shocks
- Greasable shackle pins
- New front spring U bolts
- Aisin hubs disassembled, cleaned, lubed, work perfect
- All new extended length brake hoses
- New clutch and pressure plate, flywheel refinished
- All new transmission gaskets and seals
- Transfer case rebuilt, new main shaft, bearings, seals
- Custom headlamp harness with 12 AWG wire, relays – 100% of available voltage makes it to the lamps.
- Main headlamps are E code Hella H4 (currently with 65w/80w halogen bubs)
- Auxiliary high beams are Cibie H1 (currently with 100w halogen foul weather bulbs)
- Fog lamps are Marchal H3 (currently with 55w halogen bulbs)
- Front seats from a Land Rover Discovery II – leather, power -- fore, aft, up, down, lumbar, heated – all the functions work
- Tuffy box, locking with cup holders
- 1984 Celica steering wheel – Dat Toyota brown, thicker rim, smaller diameter
- Perfect dash pad
- OEM passenger grab handle
- Devil girl shift knob, a paean to my grandpa who had a similar one in his pickup
- Period Clarion CD player with a couple amps and 4 speakers. Has aux input for iPod, phone, Zune, what have you using a Lanzar box with tone and volume controls. It’s a decent stereo that plays loud enough to hear over the tires. If you don’t like it, do your own s***.
- 1500W DC/AC converter mounted to back of Tuffy box. Properly wired with fat cable and a big fuse. Great for trail margaritas and blow drying your mullet
- Shoddy window tinting on rear side glass
- Aftermarket FJ62 mirrors
- Class 5 receiver with drop hitch for level towing
- Spare parts –
- All new brake parts – master cylinder, discs, pads, wheel cylinders, drums, shoes
- Cruiser Outfitters front swivel rebuild kit (includes all bearings, seals, pivots, etc.)
- 9.5/10 set of original front seats
- Original steering wheel
- Nice used rear door cards
- Used front carpet, fair condition
- All original outside the cab parts for A/C – Compressor, evaporator, lines
- New U bolts for rear springs
- Uncut front grill
- Rear driveshaft
- Assorted lamp lenses
- 3 large boxes of other used parts – electrical, trim, who knows what all
- Most of the parts needed to convert the front axle to coil spring suspension. Because I like to do weird things.
