My 80 got raped

Went out to the parking garage after work yesterday... only to find my dash completely ripped open-- stereo gone, etc etc etc.

The sh!theads pried open one of the rear sliding windows and crawled in that way, ransacking everything (good thing they left the three car seats for my girls alone...nice.) Once they got to the front they pried/broke/cracked everything they could to yank out the stereo (nice little Alpine w/ ipod connector; don't remember which model). It's not so much what they took but the damage they did in doing it. Luckily there was a spot or two of blood in there so at least the truck I try hard to keep looking good bit the little bitch back...

Now that its all ripped open it looks like I could try to replace this center section -- maybe a part and some tips from CruiserDan? Hey, while its open, does anyone need any intel on what's behind this area of the dash?

(P.S. My "D" light is working so I don't need to replace that PIA bulb. I hit the dash *once* and it was fixed. I love that.)

Anyway, just wanted to vent. My deductible is $1000 so I'm feeling especially screwed right about now...

80s are NOT easy to break into. They get in from teh front doors? I have had to break into mine. But it takes a good levering bar from the slider windows in rear

Just lil suggestion, next time if you planning to have something valuable inside the cruiser should get all the windows tinted dark.At least doesnt look too obvious for them to see what inside the car.I spent $25K just the inside.
P.S:Also if you concern those tinted are illegal/ cops may pull you over because of it, well roll down your window.But once you hit highway/freeway roll 'em all da way up.

Yeah, with the dark windows on that rig, I'd NEVER think it had a big stereo in it..

$1000.oo ded. that hurts. wouldn't ya love to just once catch one of these pricks in the act. It would feel so good to break all there thieving fingers one at a time. I lost a 91 XR 250L with only 1247k on it 2 days after the insurance ran out ,it was coming up on winter . Was in an open garage, in front of & and chained to a car. They had to carry the bike OVER the car after cutting the chain & locks that i had through the holes in the roters (front and back) to get it. Took two years to pay for a bike i never saw again, i am still pissed.
