"An 80 is best on the trail hands down. (Solid axle, more lift, better articulation).
We have beat the crap out of this discussion before... everything outside of this scenario, the 100 is an upgrade"

Sometimes it isn't about where one shines over another. Sometimes it's about the soul. I spent a great deal of time thinking about what is the best rig for me going forward, the answer to that is the 100. With that said, I'm keeping the 80 :D

My thoughts are this. Deep down, I just don't think I'm ready to giver her up. I fell in love with her and I think that romance can be rekindled. If I rebuild her and put time into her over the next two years it could become exactly what I want and am happy with. If at any point between now and then I realize the relationship is over, I can find her a new home pretty easy. A completely built, locked and uber clean garaged 80 is getting rare now, can you imagine 2 years from now? Also, in 2 years I imagine a tremendous number of 04-06 will be out there as the soccer mom's start hitting 8-10 years old and 100k. Oh how they shudder at the thought of being stranded with the kids due to such a high mileage vehicle.:D That puts the 100 at an age and a price range that won't cause me stress about damage or pinstriping on the trail.

I think when it's time to let her go it'll be time and I won't look back over my shoulder.

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. I have been pretty undecided for a couple of weeks and this thread, maybe through the responses or me just putting it on paper helped.

Looks like it's time for a minivan, an 80, and I just saw a local 2002 Avalon with 77k for 7800.00 Going to go look at it as a dd. Although, Ken's roadster sure looks good next to a cruiser.:hhmm:

Thank you again,

Buck

Sounds like a great choice Buck. Either choice was a good one. They key thing is to do what you feel is best for you, the one that brings you passion.

I'm pretty lucky as I still have both in my garage

Hope to wheel with you again soon my friend

I've never really wheeled with a 100 and would love to not only see it in action but would like to feel one in action. I will speak with Onur soon and if this engine rebuild works out in Albq. I think I could swing by on the way home depending on surgery date as we find out tomorrow. What's an extra 800 miles on a freshy fresh engine?

Thanks for the support Ken and to the rest of you hundy series gents. Besides, isn't a tweed jacket required for admittance in the hundy forum? (where's the top hat smiley with monicle when ya need one)

And my biggest question of all after doing some searches, did Schotts really give up the cruisers and leave mud? Is there a thread somewhere?
