Hello all.
I have been a long time viewer here and this site has opened my mind to all possible mods one can do to their 4wd.
Im from New Zealand and here we are more into making a capable mud plug machine more than an overland tourer that i see often on this site.

After owning various types of 4wds from factory to seriously modified I have finally decided to buy a truck and design it to my personal needs.
To keep it simple I was after a truck that could eat up the open road and then be capable enough to get me through the occasion muddy stuff.

So on to the pictures....
I started with this extremely tidy 1993 70 series prado from a car dealer for a very good price:clap::clap:
Honestly they almost give these away over here compared to some other over priced 4wds

So after receiving it I went to work on it.
First was some 33 maxxis bighorns and an OME 50mm lift with uprated rear springs to handle my drawers in the back.
Then I took in to a mechanic here in New Zealand that I consider to be one of our best in the business when it comes to getting the 1kzte to boogie.
He replaced the electronic pump with a hybrid manual pump design that is gathering fame here in NZ.
He also intstalled a 2 1/2" full mandrel exhaust from the turbo back, including a very tidy dump pipe.

And then I installed a water/methanol injection kit spitting lots of cooling goodness from 13psi boost

So now this truck really does get up and go. Its boosting at 20psi and loves it!!
Still got a front mount intercooler planned and possibly going the next step with a larger turbo and new exhaust manifold.....

Now on to the drawers....
I do a lot of camping and fishing so was looking wanting to make a portable kitchen for our impromptu river side bbqs.
So I decided I definitely needed a prep board for the food

and then I needed somewhere to do the cooking

and heres one just so you can see how it all looks closed up

Now I still have plenty of work to do on this ol girl. Including a mandrel bent stainless snorkel (can not get good quality factory snorkel for this model), rated rear pintle hook, extend diff breathers, front mount intercooler ( as mentioned) and possibly getting a custom rear awning/tent that is extended from the rear of the truck.
Now for a couple of shots of how its looking as of now

I like the little kitchen and drawers in the back.Must get around to decking my troopy out

That is a really nice rig! You've done all the right mods to it and it looks great.

I'd be interested to see a dyno graph if you ever get one.

Thank a lot.
Haven't had it dynoed yet. I think my mechanic tunes but seat of the pants feel and keeping a good eye on the gauges.
But if/when I get the larger turbo put on I will definitely get it dynoed.
Im really interested to see what sort of power I can get out of one of these 1kz's.

Nice engine mods !

You did that water methanol injection instalation by yourself ?

I did everything apart from the drill and tap for the injection nozzle.
I am in no way mechanically minded but found it a pretty easy install to do.
Took about 4 hrs from start to test drive.
With straight water found it adds an extra 50 odd degrees (Celsius) cooling but throw a little methanol in the mix and I get about same cooling but a really noticeable surge in power.;);)

Be careful with meth injection. doesnt take much to melt a piston. propane is a much better choice albiet a tad more expensive. more power and benifits than bug wash. My .o2

In one of your photos you have the check valve to far away from the nozzle. You wont it as close to the nozzle holder as possible.
