Mutiple Coolant Hose Leaks

What could cause mutiple heater hoses to leaks at once.
I have at least 5 heater hoses leaking and one rad hose (its the metal part of the rad that the hose goes on, I pinched it a little and bent it back in shape).
I noticed the leaks after the cold snap -15f.
Could a bad rad cap or thremostat cause excessive pressure in the cooling system and blow out coolant at some of the hoses?

Wow, that is strange! If I had to guess, and I emphasize guess, I'd say the extreme cold caused the hoses to shrink so much that they all cracked right where the hose and the rubber meet; the length of the hose that is in between the metal ends would probably be able to shrink more than the area right around the metal ends this area is both the most flexible and the most rigid in different ways. I wonder if every end of those hoses just met its match at that temp? Anyway, the hoses are cheap and easy to replace. Like I mentioned in the other thread the only thing that I would do differently is try to get those sweet toyota hose clamps and use those instead of the worm gear hose clamps. The worm gear hose clamps get to look so clunky compared to those toyota ones and from another thread it seems that those toyota clamps can be reused over and over as long as you dont deform them. I wonder why Mr. T used the sardine can things specifically for those heater hoses? Anyway, if those squeeze clamps are available in those sizes, I'd love to know and if so I'd probably quickly replace the regular hose clamps with those squeeze clamps (what's the real name?). HTH Ohh, BTW, how many miles do those leaky hoses have do you think? Ohh, And also, a plug for Junk's recommended hose removal tool, that thing kicks ass and works so well for getting subborn hoses off without hurting them, or yourself! I have one that will do everthing from 1/8 inch hose up to about 3/4, they probably make em for larger hoses as well and trust me they really work and make the work you are doing so much more enjoyable so thanks again Junk ya fawker!

Thats a good theroy. The hoses get old and hard. They can't handle the shock of going from -15f to very hot in a very short time and they crack.
I ordered the bent hoses form Cdan. I will cut to lenght the straight hoses.
What brand should I use for the straight hoses?

WHats this JUNK hose remover? Is that the bent screwdriver thing?

Yes, specifically the hoses cannot handle the shock of -15 right at the area where they wrap over the metal. If you think about it that area will want to flex as much as any other but will be prevented from flexing by the metal so somethings gotta give and in this case it sounds like it was the old rubber that gave up.

The tool is from Snap-On and is called simply vacuum hose remover, or rubber hose remover, or hose pliers. My particular tool had hose pliers written on the box but they are all one and the same, cost about 12 bucks IIRC and man what a great 12 bucks to spend.

Also, IMHO, I would order even the straight sections from Dan; the price is perfectly reasonable and they are actually at the 16mm or whatever the metric size is. If you use 5/8 standard hose you might have some seepage? Not sure about that but again the correct metric size is easily sourced and easily purchased through Dan. HTH.
