Why not just put the spring loaded, rotating lunette back on the trailer and a pintle on the rig? Stonger stonger and simpler.

Edit... Just looked closer at your picture. Is your lunette non-rotating?

Also interested in what others have done in terms of length when extending the tounge....this is what my set-up looks like now but I'm not sure how much longer I should go

That is such a cool truck! I never get tird of looking at it.

I knew that the M101cdns rotated just like the M100 and the M416. But from the picture I could not be sure that it had not been changed for some reason. And since he is looking at these complicated solutions to what *seems* to already be dealt with by the rotating lunette... ???

Hey all, knew here. Former FJ owner actually. Currently I drive a 4runner. Anyway, I signed up after looking at this thread because I thought I could help. The people who make the couplings that adventure trailer use are at www.locknroll.com they actaully use a shot of a chaser on their site. They have several couplings to choose from. Also it looks like people at the expeditionportal are trying to organize a group buy. Good luck. Charlie see http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2501

Sorry, i just saw that Jim had posted that he has some in stock.

How about far enough like 10' so the pebbles will not break your rear glass? :D

Is your existing pintle bolt on or slide in 2"x2" sq on your 70 series?

Cheers,

right now I have a 2" female receiver in my rear bumper (see pic)...then I have a 2" male slide in hitch with a pintle that bolts to that

Brett,

This 2x2 slide-in hitch should do it. Keep the part simple and strong. Multi-axes have too many moving parts and I don't even see this type being used by professional.

This hitch is rated at 5 tons which may seems overkill but so is mine, (rated 5 tons) yet small and compact.

Btw, Celine's song will be on my offroad video at SnT

After 4 off-road outings with our Horizon, which has the multi-axis coupler AKA LnR, I can vouch for it's solid performance. I guess time will tell if it really is the schnit...but so far it's great on all fronts.
