I have a few more mods planned for my M101 this winter....first on the list is a tounge extension. I'd really like to get a muti-axis hitch at the same time....something like this one (pic pilfered from Scott Brady's website). Anyone know where to source one?

Also interested in what others have done in terms of length when extending the tounge....this is what my set-up looks like now but I'm not sure how much longer I should go

These are from Adventure Trailers. Don't know where they source them but if you contact Mario or Martyn at AT maybe they would sell you one or let you know where to go to get one? BTW...I really like this hitch design. The only maintenance to it is spraying it with lithium grease once in a while.

Lock n' roll is correct. www.locknroll.com
You need two pieces the hitch and the coupler.

What some have done is use the lock n' roll coupler part number 410 that will slide over a 2x2" square tube vs. the number 212 which slides into a 2" receiver.

You will weld/bolt a 2" receiver tube to the tongue of your trailer and then cut a piece of 2x2" square tube 3'-4' long for your extension. Also make up a short piece of maybe only 12" or so for a non extended tongue. The variations are limitless. You slide your choice of the precut 2x2" tube into the trailer receiver and secure, then on the vehicle end you slide the 410 over the 2x2 and secure. The 410 then mates to the vehicle lock n' roll hitch.

This system also gives you some degree of theft prevention as when the 410 and extension is removed all you have on the trailer is a 2" receiver.

Nice fab fabworks...

Just got two of the the lock n roll hitches - I got in on Waldogs group purchase over in the expedition portal - well worth the $$

the 303 & the 212 - I am planning a slightly longer tongue

What are you planning Brett ?

Thx for all the feedback guys...this is great. I like the looks of the hitch fabworks posted...looks nice & beefy. Since I have no fab skills whatsoever, I think I'll either go w/ the 303/212 locknroll or look into seeing if Luke at 4x4Labs can make me one like fabworks. So it sounds like about a 3' extension from stock is the way to go eh?

The pics I posted is not my idea and I have not built it yet. I just had the pic and would like to do the same style hitch. I can't remember where I got the pic, but whoever built this  For me, it is the best way to go because I can custom make this for my application.

FWIW: I do like the way I can easily separate the trailer and the truck with the LocknRoll/AT design. The Blue Ox design, from the photograph, looks like the truck receiver would need to be pulled to effectively separate the truck from the trailer.

I've been using a Treg coupler for about two years now and I really like it.... unfortunately I'm not aware of anyone who sells it in the USA anymore. Anybody know a US source?

is that 3' in addition to stock? or from the tub? ...in the end I am not sure I want to make the 101 too long?

( that is some avatar :)

Pasquale,

I was thinking 3' extension in overall length from stock (ie from the front of the tub to the tip of the pintle)...you likey my custom "Celine is Hitler" avtar eh?? I made it special just for Andy & James:flipoff2:
